MESSAGE FROM P&C PRESIDENT - Welcome back to all families for Term 2. This is an exciting and busy term for us as preparations are now underway in earnest for the Hornsby North Community Fair to be held on Sunday 2 June. We also have the Federal Election on Saturday 18 May and the expected Election BBQ or "Democracy Sausage." Hornsby North Community Fair We've set up a Facebook Page for the Fair - HNPS Community Fair - and we'll be sharing lots of information via this page. Please like and share with your friends and families. A detailed note about the Fair has been issued today but here's some key details you need to know: - Our 2019 Fair aims to be a Sustainable Event and to re-use and recycle where possible and to reduce plastic waste. We're hoping to use biodegradable products for our International Food Fair to assist in reducing plastic waste. This will be funded by the School Mufti Day which is being held this Friday 3 May. - Over the course of the next few weeks you will receive lots of information as to how you can participate including manning stalls, baking cakes and bringing in items for our hampers. If everyone contributes a small amount we can make a big impact. Due to the close proximity of the Fair, we will not be holding a Cake Stall on this Election Day, just a BBQ. If you'd like to volunteer to assist with the BBQ on Election Day, please email the P&C via this address: [email protected] Important P&C Dates Term 2 P&C Meeting - Monday 13 May, 7:30pm in the Staffroom.
