Slasher

Slasher films often have a lot of violence committed by the serial killer.

In these films there is usually one specific weapon used. These films often overlap with crime films.

Examples of slasher films are Friday 13th and Halloween.

Comedy Horror

Comedy horror often uses dark comedy or whilst scaring the audience, also makes them laugh at their fear.

Supernatural Horror

Supernatural horror involves demon, ghosts and other paranormal phenomenon.

These often take place in a house.

Comedy Horror Over the Years Gremlins (1984) Tucker and Dale VS. Evil (2010)

Both movies are in the Comedy Horror Genre but are not very similar. Gremlins has villains in it throughout the film whereas the villain in Tucker and Dale VS. Evil does not come clear until the end, during the rest of the movie the villain is mistaken as Tucker and Dale themselves. Gremlins is a proper horror with comedic elements and Tucker and Dale VS. Evil is a parody.
