Premium High-Quality

Blending

Each bag of Excel Equine feed contains only

the highest quality ingredients, and each

ingredient is evaluated prior to manufacturing

to meet strict nutritional requirements.

• Each lifestyle blend contains the OPTIMAL blend of high-quality protein for muscle, carbohydrates for energy, and fat for proper metabolism.

• Each is chosen to provide the horse with the most digestible and nutritional sources available.

• Each blend is also fortified with optimal levels of vitamins and minerals.

All horses benefit from good nutrition.

However, not all horses have the same nu-

tritional needs. Therefore, each Excel Equine

feed takes into consideration both science

and lifestyle needs to meet the unique needs

of various horses.

What your horse

needs to thrive

Two long-time leaders in animal nutrition

– Tapps Feeds and Producer Feeds – have

joined to form Excel Equine, LLC, one of the

only equine-dedicated feed mills in the U.S.

Owners Dr. Kent Thompson and Dr. David

Williams bring to the company a combined

75 years of knowledge about equine nutrition

and decades of experience feeding horses,

including many Eclipse award winners.

That experience enables them to take a

extraordinary approach to equine nutrition,

blending science with a lifestyle approach

to produce premium, nutritionally balanced

horse feeds based on the specific needs of

each horse.

Trust Excel Equine Feeds to be

Contaminate Free

Excel Equine Feeds are manufactured at our

Louisville facility that does not allow any

medications or antibiotics to be used in the

manufacturing process. Antibiotics and med-

ications are often used in the production of

other livestock feeds. It is of great importance

to a horse’s health and safety that their feed

is purchased from an equine only, medication

free feed manufacturing facility.

Purchasing feed from an equine only facility

is something that many horse owners and

professionals alike do not think much about

until it is too late. For the most part, buying

feed from a mill that also produces cattle and

other animal feeds won’t cause a problem to

you and your horses. However…mistakes do

happen in every business. When a mistake

such as contamination of your horse’s feed

with antibiotics and medications that are

toxic to horses occurs, this mistake is not one

easily fixed. Contamination of antibiotics and

medications often causes death to the horses

it affects. It is much wiser to eliminate this

concern all together by buying from a feed

company that does not have this risk, due to

the facility being equine only.

Excel Equine is proud to be a feed company

that focuses on horses only. Excel is owned

and operated by horse enthusiasts who care

deeply for the equine industry and its welfare.

Call Excel Equine today and get your horses

on a path to quality nutrition from a safe and

reputable source.

Pleasure Horses

Pleasure horses generally have a relatively

minimal need for specialized nutritional

support. It is critical, however, that these

horses receive a nutritionally fortified diet

that is lower in calories yet still balanced for

vitamin, mineral, and protein content.

Breeding Horses

Breeding horses have added nutritional needs,

ranging from the nutritional demands of young

growing horses and lactating mares to the more

moderate nutritional needs of stallions and preg-

nant mares. Nutrition provided during these times

are especially important as young horses and

pregnant mares are developing the muscle/bone

foundation for the future. Excel Equine products

are designed to meet these additional needs in a

well-fortifi ed and palatable line of feeds.
