• Not a theory course• We must raise plants to sell to fund the

educational program• Learn scientific principles and apply them

to growing plants for food, pleasure, or income

• The ATTITUDE of working hard will bring success.

• Daily Grade 35% – Work ethic– Stay on task– Clean-up

• Notebook 15% – Complete– Neat

• Quizzes 25%• Projects 25%

• Exam(s) count 10% of the semester grade• Quiz most Fridays with terms Open notebook.

What can You expect for grades

• Very few A’s• If you do a good job – that is a B• If you do okay - get C’s – Average• If you only do the bare minimum with a lot

of nagging, you will get a D• If you sleep through class, don’t work,

don’t complete your notebook, you will get an F

• If you will not work, you will not pass• If you can’t stop playing long enough to

get your work done, you will not pass• If you hide from work, you will not pass• If you miss class and don’t make it up, you

will not pass• YOU are responsible for getting your work

Two Parts

1. Sign up for wiki access (8 steps)– Only need to do one time: TODAY

2. Log onto the wiki and post to the site (7 steps):

miss

1. You need an email address and password

– Sign up for one at www.gmail.com if you don’t have one.

2. Go to the FHS Horticulture Wiki Site:– www.fhshort.pbworks.com

Access the page

1. Click on the “Log in” button2. Click on request access

Complete the request

1. Enter your e-mail address, confirm the letter, leave the message blank, and select “Send to Administrator” (Me)

Check your email

• I will confirm you as an authorized user and send you a log on link.

3. Check your email, you will get an email from PB Works

Confirm your log in

1. Click on the link in the email2. Enter your email address and select a

password

• Now you have access to the Wiki site and are ready to make posts
