Original OPW cam & groove quick couplings for torsion free connection of hoses. Theadapter is the male coupling section with the groove. The coupler is the femalecoupling section with the handles. The connection between the two coupling sectionsis made by sliding the adapter into the coupler. When the handles are then closed, thecam is pressed into the groove of the adapter, and the coupling is locked. Thecouplings comply with the MIL-A-59326 (MIL-C-27487).

Econlok® is a robust stainless steel quick coupling as per the MIL-AA-59326 (MIL-C-27487) for easy and torsion-freeconnection and disconnection of hoses. Perrot Kardan quick couplings consist of a ball, a handle and a cup with seal ring. Theball forms the male coupling section, the female coupling section consists of the cupwith handle. With a simple movement of the handle the ball is clamped in the cup anda leakproof suction/discharge connection between the two coupling sections is made.

These quick coupling consist of a ball, handle and cup with seal ring. The ball withhandle is the male and the cup the male part. With a simple movement of the handlethe ball clamps in the cup and so makes a gas-tight connection.

Robust symmetrical claw couplings for compressed air. All sizes and types have a lugdistance of 42 mm, and can therefore be interconnected. The couplings are availablewith a rubber or metal seal ring. At least one coupling section must be provided with arubber seal ring for a good seal. Special version “MODY” is equipped with 360°swivelling lugs and a lock. This version is very easy to connect, and avoids torsion.

Tank truck couplings as per DIN 28450. The female coupling section consists of acrown ring and clamp ring with handle. The threaded piece is the male couplingsection. The connection between the coupling sections is made by pressing thefemale coupling section against the male coupling section and subsequently twistingthe clamp ring. Guillemin couplings, also called French fire couplings, are symmetric couplingsmanufactured as per standard NF E 29.572. The connection is made by pressing thetwo coupling sections together and subsequently turning a quarter of a turn in relationto each other so that the coupling claws grip together. The coupling can then besecured by tightening the locking ring. At least one coupling section must beequipped with a locking ring.

MTek dry-break couplings enable hoses to be quickly and safely coupled anduncoupled without loss of product. For harmful and dangerous products in particular,the MTek dry-break coupling is a safe and reliable solution. The couplings areapproved by the TüV for conveying dangerous materials (TU-AGG 304-99 approval).The MTek coupling system is can be mixed with TODO, Avery Hardoll,Emco-Wheaton, and more.

OperationThe dry-break couplings consist of a hose unit with an integrated swivel and a tankunit. Both coupling sections are provided with a self-closing valve. The connection ismade by sliding the coupling halves together and turning the hose unit clockwise. Dueto the twisting, the coupling sections are locked and the valves are opened.The hose unit is turned anti-clockwise to uncouple. First the valves are shut, and onlythen is the lock released; uncoupling is then completed without product loss.

Operating pressureThe couplings are suitable for an operating pressure of 10 bar and can be coupled anduncoupled under a pressure of 7 bar. The bursting pressure is 50 bar.

Assembly step 1At the desired length, draw a line around the circumference of the hose using e.g. asilver coloured felt-tip pen. Use a metal tube as a guide to help draw the line straight.

Assembly step 2Sever the hose all around with a sharp knife. It helps to moisten the cutting tool.

Assembly step 3Pull hose sections apart so that the spiral is pulled out of the cut. Nip or saw the spiralthrough as close to the cut as possible.

Assembly step 4Place the coupling sections around the hose in such a way that the corrugations in thecoupling sections engage those in the hose. The hose must protrude 3 - 5 mm beyondthe flange surface.

Assembly step 5Screw coupling sections together until the hose begins to show distortion on theinside. There may still be a split of several millimetres between the coupling sections.

Assembly step 6When two hoses have been prepared as described above, they can be joinedtogether. Centre the hoses as well as possible in relation to each other, insert therubber flange gasket and tighten the flange bolts alternately on opposite sides. Theseal is obtained by compressing the cut edges of the hoses together. It is notnecessary to fully compress the flange gasket for a good seal.
