Being admitted to hospital for

surgery is something we may all

need to go through at some point in

our lives.

Post surgery rehabilitation is

extremely important to ensure you

achieve the best outcome from your

surgery.

Our aim is to provide you with the

best quality equipment to help get

you back on your feet after your

surgery, safely and to help make

your recovery as comfortable as

possible.

Two of the most common types of

surgery are hip and knee

replacement or reconstruction.

In this brochure we have provided

some examples of equipment that

could be useful to aid your recovery

and rehabilitation.

Your health care professionals are

best qualified to advise you on what

types of equipment would best suit

your needs and this brochure is

intended as a guide only.

Bathroom Equipment

Following surgery you may need to

raise the height of the toilet seat

for easier transfer, avoid standing

in the shower or sitting in the bath

and avoid twisting motions.

Equipment to meet these needs

consists of but is not limited to:

Raised toilet seats, over toilet

frames, shower chairs/stools, bath

transfer benches, bathing Aids, and

more.

To Make your transition from

hospital to home as easy and

safe as possible we can have

your equipment delivered and

set up prior to your discharge

from hospital.

This equipment is available for sale

or hire depending on your needs.

In some cases it may be better

value to purchase equipment rather

than hire it. This will depend on

your expected rehabilitation time.

Coming home from hospital requires

some planning to make sure your

recovery is swift, safe and comfortable.

When your are recuperating at home

you may be recommended to use a day

chair which can be adjusted to a height

that keeps your knees below your hips

when seated. You may also need a

height adjustable foot stool to improve

your seating posture. Or you may just

need some furniture raisers to raise the

height of your exiting chairs or furniture.

It may be recommended for you to get

in and out of bed on the affected side. A

cobra bed stick can be very useful to

assist you with this.

reachers, dressing sticks and shoe

horns to eliminate bending at the hips

may be recommended. In some cases

you may be recommended to use a

strengthening aid such as a pedal

exerciser to regain strength,

movement and improve circulation in

the recovering limb.

WAREHOUSE

Welcome to Medical and Mobility Warehouse. A whole new concept in mobility and rehabilitation equipment supply in Cairns and Far North Queensland. Our new warehouse and showroom has convenient, free disabled parking, and is stocked with the latest in mobility aids and rehabilitation equipment. We supply quality, affordable equipment that meets or exceeds Australian Design Standards and at warehouse prices! We service what we sell locally and supply an excellent range of spare parts.

Our Cairns show room, is open from 8.00am-5.00pm Monday to Fridays. Our Innisfail store is open from 8.30am-4.00pm Monday to Wednesday and by appointment on Thursday/Friday. Our fully trained, professional staff are always happy to provide helpful advice for your specific needs with care, dignity and above all respect.

Medical and Mobility also provide a wide range of associated services:

Hire Service: Most equipment in our range is available for hire at very

affordable rates. Please contact us for hire conditions or visit our website.

Equipment Maintenance and Repair Service: We repair and service all types of mobility and rehabilitation equipment at very affordable rates. We provide scheduled servicing and maintenance at our workshop or by appointment at your premises.

On Site Equipment Maintenance Service: We provide

contract equipment maintenance solutions to Aged Care and Health Facilities.

Rent Try Buy Service: A concept that allows customers to trial most products in our extensive range and if you purchase that product in the first 14 days of the hire period, the cost of the rental is deducted from the purchase price.

GST is not applicable on most health related items and prices in this brochure are shown exclusive of GST. GST if applicable will be shown on quotes and tax receipts.
