Hot Desking Today, I assessed/ looked at other people work and gave the feedback and they looked at mine to give me feedback on the questions which I had asked. This will help me because it will help me include the information I need to relate to my genre of alternative rock music. Is the information given, relative to the target audience? (Alternative rock) Yes, it contains engaging personal information about the band as a whole, instead of primarily focusing on just the person being interviewed. Perhaps you could also ask questions about the songs/inspiration behind their music? Yes, I think the interview includes information about the band that the audience would like to find out and it would engage them. I think that you could include more questions about their music to fill the rest of the page and to let the audience get to know the band more. Are the colours relative/stereotypical of the alternative genre? I think so. The use of a monochromatic main image conforms nicely to the alternative rock genre, as does the dark red staple colour. This, in particular, can be used to create a house style for your magazine as a whole. Yes, I think the colour scheme represents the genre very well. I would say that making the dark red a bit brighter would make the title stand out more, but it also works very well with the black.

Hot Desking

Today, I assessed/ looked at other people work and gave the feedback and they looked at mine to give me feedback on the questions which I had asked. This will help me because it will help me include the information I need to relate to my genre of alternative rock music.

Is the information given, relative to the target audience? (Alternative rock)

Yes, it contains engaging personal information about the band as a whole, instead of primarily focusing on just the person being interviewed.

Could I include more information?

As previously stated, I think you would benefit from adding more niche questions about the band’s own music.

Yes, I think more questions about the band’s music would be interesting to read about and would represent the audience’s interests.

Is my type face bold enough to be read from the shelf?

I think the main body text is an appropriate size, as it doesn’t need to be read from afar. However, the title and pull quote are slightly difficult to read, perhaps because of the dark colours used. It might be worth experimenting with colours to ensure it is eye-catching.

The font for the title and the pull quote is a good choice for the genre and it’s also big enough for it to be easily readable. Like I said before, I think it would be good for the red behind the text to be just slightly brighter to make the black text sand out more.

Recurring features throughout my feedback were:

Positive:

Engaging personal information

The monochrome feature of the image

The red staple colour

The information is interesting

The main body text is of an appropriate size

Easily readable

Negative:

Include more information on the songs written- inspiration.

The colour doesn’t allow the text to stand out more.

I am going to use this information to improve and change my magazine double page spread to make it a better representation of the genre of alternative rock and to make it more interesting to the eyes of my target audience. I am going to make the red lighter to make the header easier to read and standout, so it can be read from afar and I am going to include more information on the influences for their ideas which they used to produce and write their songs.
