Use crates in each classroom for book returns (label crates so you know where to return them) Use sports trading card sheets to put class bar codes in (can be found at Staples) Post-it –Notes ( have many different sizes) Clip boards- have one for each class to keep track of attendance (color code by day or grade which ever works best) Plastic containers- be on the look out for and purchase they come in handy for many different types of displays In elementary go with the flow (give all Curious George books the same call number) High demand books can be put in containers (such as rookie science books) Checklist for new students Brochure on library to hand out covers Procedures, times etc. Cleaning books use janitors cleaning stuff Garage Sales are your friends for displays Be flexible Become a member of the Texas Library List Serve Shopping carts from vendors are your friends Rescan books before shelving, this saves time in the long run Remember your purpose in a school library is to have books for children to read Run circulation stats before you leave and keep in a 3-ring binder Make life as simple as possible
