When it opened, between 1816 and 1819, the hotel was popular among Russian guests. They liked the mild Roman winters. The Romans called it L’Albergo di Russia. The name became Hotel de Russie when French took off among the aristocracy.

Since its opening, aristocratic travellers, Russian royalty and renowned artists have all passed through our elegant lobby.

We’ve made it even better since then.
