Principal’s Report Hello everyone.
It has been a very big week for staff this week with Parent Teacher interviews. In speaking with staff the number of parents taking the opportunity of speaking with their child’s teacher about their achievements has been pleasing. Teachers will make additional times to see those parents who couldn’t make the allocated times this week.
On the same topic NAPLAN results will become available to schools in 2 weeks.
In the dates ahead we have advertised a Curriculum Day (pupil free) for Monday August 4th. I will have School Council endorse this on Monday but we felt it was very important to give parents plenty of notice to prepare for this day.
Today we had the NED show for all of our students. This program supports our Values and our Tribes program. The theme of the show is all about building strengths in children in dealing with bullying and resilience. NED = “Never Give Up”, “Encourage Others” and “Do Your Best”.
A group of our Year 34 students will head off to Lake Mountain for a day skiing tomorrow. Thank you to Briony Graham for volunteering to help on the day.
Coming up soon is our next working bee - Saturday August 2nd, 8am - 4pm. Below is a list of tasks that our Grounds team would like to achieve so please consider finding a little time to come up and help;
Assembly Area Retaining Wall; New sand for the sand pit – spread;
soft fall in playground areas spread to ensure even cover across the area and to make sure that all footing are covered;
Clear drains; Weed gardens/prune where needed; reattach trespass notice to the fence;
Attach toilet paper dispensers to cubicles;

Daytime rehearsal and evening performance at Discovery Church (formally Careforce). Ticket order forms and costume details will be sent home next week. EMA If you are the holder of a valid health care card or pensioner card and have not claimed EMA earlier this year it is important that you contact the office immediately. We have until Monday 4th August to lodge any applications for the 2nd part payment. All families who have claimed EMA this year and have an updated card need to provide the school with a copy of their updated card to enable their application to proceed. An EMA claim form is available on the school web site.

Messages To Parents Fundraising Mark August 16 on your calendar and get ready for a fun night out! We are hard at work organising a great event and look forward to as many people as possible joining us. Dress up in 80’s style and dance along to some fabulous hits “spun” by our resident DJ Matt Shore. Tickets are on sale now, so get in quick to secure yours. We are also seeking donations for our silent auction, so if you, your family or friends have an item or service that they are able to donate to support our school, we would really appreciate it. Speak to Melanie, Michelle, Emma or Sue for further information.
Our kids are not going to miss out as we are organising a disco at school for them as well. We will hold two sessions on Friday, August 8 in the Multipurpose room.
