From Our Visitors . . .When you enter the house you feel you have been personally
invited to enter every room. The house was absolutely delightful, beautifully furnished and had the feeling of being truly loved by the family which makes it comfortable
and inviting to tour.
Go and be spellbound by the story of love of three ladies for their
garden and the families who called this land their home.
We have visited many historic homes but what makes Hills and
Dales is the people. Our guide was a fountain of information and
an absolute delight. She truly added to an already delightful
experience and her insight made it come alive.

The gardens have a wide variety of plantings for every season that
follow the historical plan. The greenhouse is always gorgeous and fresh arrangements inside the house
are stunning.
The gardens are breathtaking and there’s no way to capture the beauty in words. I felt like a child exploring the grounds and past. I could have
explored forever.

“In looking back over my years of being in this beautiful garden, I look out and I see all the beauty around me and it makes me wonder why I deserved all this beauty. It has been a joy to me, it’s been a joy to my family and it’s been a joy to many friends
and strangers as well...It is so beautiful and so refreshing and so wholesome, and what a healthful life I’ve had working outside with the sunshine and the exercise and the companionship of most everyone who’s worked here and it has been a joy
every day...[it’s] pulled me through some tough times and...given me hope for the future and I love it dearly.”Alice Hand Callaway, Hills & Dales Resident 1936–1998
