Challenge Time - Felicitations to Hannah Scotton and Alex Bland who found the words burgeoning and sumptuous in last week’s letter. They could both explain the meanings too! This week I have continued the theme. Can any children find the daring and unusual words that I

have used? If you can spot them and can work out what they mean then come and let me know next week.

Football v Cromer

On Thursday, two Rackheath teams played two teams from Cromer. The first

game was tight at first but as the half wore on Rackheath took control and scored

2 goals. The first an exquisite finish by Oliver Grimmer and the second scored by

Josh Rivett after a slick passing move. In the second, half both teams played well

but there were no further goals making the end result 2-0 to Rackheath. The

second game was also a close one. Rackheath took the lead through Jake Harris

before Cromer scored two late goals to win 2-1. Despite the loss, it was an

encouraging display from a team where many were playing their first school

game. Well done to all who took part; Archie Fiddy, Oliver Grimmer, Mason Parfitt-

Bland, Keegan Mickleburgh, Katie Moore, Caedn Huckle, Jamie Tye, Theodore

Tetteh, Phoebe Player, Emily Addison, William Ottaway, Daniel Cropley, Jake Harris,

Lewis Mann and Jay Barrett.

Next Friday we are off to Coltishall to play two games including the first

game of the season for our girls’ team. Then on Monday 15th, we play

Stalham away.

Books for Schools We are taking part in the Books for Schools token competition being run by Archant in the EDP and Norwich Evening News as well as other local papers. We will have a collection box in school for any tokens you cut out. Additionally there is a collection box in the Rackheath Post Office, which counts to our total. Thanks to them for their support. As a school taking part in Books for Schools, journalists visited us from the EDP on Tuesday. This followed a recommendation from a local author who had previously visited the school and been hugely impressed by our book corners. Look out for the article, which promises to feature some super photographs of the children reading in their book corners.
