house in battersea
DESCRIPTION
A tight urban site between two buildings that differ greatly in scale has provided the opportunity for inserting a slender house with a colourful and elegant glazed facade, behind which a series of floor plates are linked by a top lit stair. The building is realised as a series of simple floor plates. The key element is the façade and this is where the budget would be focussed. On entering, a secondary element is the rear stair core which with a series of timber flats provides for privacy and the filtering of sunlight.TRANSCRIPT
