DID YOU KNOW...?

10

1 in 35 of the working population of East Cambridgeshire work in London, compared with 1 in 20 in Cambridge.

So, how do their cities compare for commuters...?

Page 3: HouseHunter September 2014

Welcome to HouseHunter, our local property & lifestyle magazine...Welcome to the September edition of our HouseHunter magazine. You will find a selection of some of the properties available, both for sale and to let, across our network of local offices.

We are pleased to be supporting the Histon Beer Festival, taking place on the 1st to the 6th of September. Saturday is set to be the highlight of the festival, with the area being transformed into a German Bierkeller, with a selection of traditional German food and entertainment - definitely worth a visit!

Turn to page 28 to see the newest addition to our magazine. Each month we will feature a selection of prime London property, courtesy of John D Wood and Co. My personal favourite is the beautifully refurbished ground floor apartment in Palace Place Mansions - millionaire moment!

We have continued our recruitment drive and have had some excellent people join our sales teams already. Our lettings department are also recruiting - they require a Property Manager for our busy Cambridge office, to provide maternity cover until at least September 2015. See our careers page for more information on all available positions. We are always keen to find enthusiastic and self-motivated individuals so please do get in touch if you are interested in starting or developing a career in agency, even if there are no available positions on our website.

TuckerGardner teams care. We listen to each client’s needs and focus solely on what’s best for you.

We have a buddy system in place to make sure that there’s always someone in the office to help. We don’t trap sellers in a lengthy agency contract or pressure any of our team to meet internal sales targets, because we don’t actually have any. We treat each sale and person as unique to make it easier (even enjoyable) for you to sell or buy your home.

Robert Webster, Senior ValuerEly OfficeI have been an estate agent in Ely for over 10 years and was born and raised in the area. I started at the bottom as an office junior and quickly acquired a taste for the fast paced industry, learning every aspect of the business as I rose through the ranks.

In my spare time I’m a keen shot and enjoy visiting clay pigeon ranges.

Just over a year ago Greg and Moyra Mould took on The Chequers in Cottenham, a large free house centrally

situated in the village.

After a major refurbishment programme, they opened the doors to a family friendly pub offering good value,

fantastic food. The main menu offers traditional favourites at an affordable price, with roasts on Sundays. They also offer authentic Italian pizzas made in a wood-

fired oven in the garden. See the page opposite for a selection of their menu items.

In the bar there is a variety of cask ales including Adnams Southwold bitter, plus guest ales together with a varied wine list to suit all palates and pockets! There's

also Aspall cider and a range of lagers, spirits and soft drinks.

They are keen to engage with the village community so have held various events, including a mini Christmas

market, themed nights such as "Meat" the Butcherand Meet the Fishmonger and a beer festival.

The next project on their agenda is to enhance the exterior of the property, particularly redesigning the

garden area.

It's well worth a visit, you won't be disappointed!

Residential Lettings

All of our lettings teams work on the core principle of mutual respect and of trying to do our very best by landlords and tenants alike. The landlord is our client so we must endeavour to look after their interests, recognising that we are custodians of their property and of their money. By the same token, we also have a duty of care to our tenant customers and we must always remember, and respect, the fact that the property is their home for the duration of the tenancy.

In each office you will find experienced, friendly individuals who will be happy to help.
