u Serve patients regardless of their ability to pay and provide financial assistance

u Face a 70% reduction in funding

u Grant cycles begin January 1, 2018

u Senate passed its FY18 Budget and the House is likely to approve

u FY18 Budget allows for Budget Reconciliation legislation that only requires 51 votes in the Senate

u It allows up to $1.5 trillion in deficit financed tax cuts

u Could pay for even bigger tax cuts with cuts to Medicaid, Medicare, or other safety net programs
