CHA is pleased to partner again this year with the Conneccut Department of Public Health to present a program on improving asthma health outcomes through aenon to housing quality. Megan Sandel, MD, MPH, an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the Boston University School of Medicine and a naonally recognized expert on housing and child health, will provide the keynote presentaon. The former Director of Pediatric Healthcare for the Homeless at Boston Medical Center and a Co- Principal Invesgator with Children’s HealthWatch, Dr. Sandel will discuss the relaonship between housing and health, and the importance of healthcare and community partnerships to address inadequate housing. Following Dr. Sandel’s presentaon there will be a plenary session on iniaves that support healthy housing and asthma, including presentaons by representaves from the Conneccut Green Bank’s Conneccut Green and Healthy Homes Project, the Conneccut Children’s Healthy Homes Program, and Sustainable CT. The program will close with a panel presentaon on policies and systems that support asthma care including commentary on legal issues, tobacco control, and acvies that support fair housing opportunity.
