Criminal Background Check
• A person convicted of a felony /misdemeanor of a court of competent jurisdiction enters an adjudication of guilty against the person on a felony offense under the laws of this or another state of the United States.
• These crimes which the Board considers to be directly related to the duties and responsibilities of a Licensed Vocational Nurse shall include, but are not limited to:
• Offenses against a person• Offenses against property• Offenses involving fraud, dishonesty or deceit• Offenses related to drugs/alcohol• Offenses which include attempting or conspiring to commit any of the
offenses in this subsection

VNSG 1320 and VNSG 1216 will be required for program acceptance.

Essential Functions
• Essential functions are the basic physical, cognitive, psychomotor, social and affective activities that are necessary for successful completion of the Houston Community College Vocational Nursing Program curriculum leading to initial licensure as a vocational nurse.
• Basic functions included are gross motor skills, fine motor skills, physical endurance, physical strength, mobility, hearing, visual, tactile, smell, reading, arithmetic competence, emotion stability, analytical thinking, critical thinking, interpersonal skills , and communication
