Business Funded Charter Schools

Private corporations such as E-470 and home contractors have proposed to build charter schools in their area.

Advantages Disadvantages

School board doesn’t have to fund the building of the school Not as much money is required from the school district per student

Would not hold as many students Public schools would get less money Charter schools are built for profit, not for a beneficial education

Page 11: How can overcrowding at Rangeview High School be reduced? Rangeview High School Project Citizen May 12 th 2006

School on Weekends or Online

Provide an opportunity for students to attend on Saturdays, with a different day off during the week

Advantages Disadvantages Not all students would all be in the building on Monday through Friday More flexibility towards students and teachers

Takes away from the traditional high school experience More teachers would be neededHarder to keep track of students and maintain contact with them

Page 12: How can overcrowding at Rangeview High School be reduced? Rangeview High School Project Citizen May 12 th 2006

Improving Current High Schools

Improve schools by adding space, renovating, or increasing classroom size

Advantages Disadvantages

Schools would be more appealing to prospective students Teachers could better provide for each student

More students are still going to continue coming to these schools It is only a temporary solution
