Rangeview High School Statistics Capacity including mobiles is 1,800 students Current attendance at RHS is 2,252 students 32 Elementary schools feed into 4 major high

schools APS increases it’s student population about 1-

2% per year Student-to-teacher ratio expected to be 1:16,

currently it is 1:32

Business Funded Charter Schools

Private corporations such as E-470 and home contractors have proposed to build charter schools in their area.

Advantages Disadvantages

School board doesn’t have to fund the building of the school Not as much money is required from the school district per student

Would not hold as many students Public schools would get less money Charter schools are built for profit, not for a beneficial education

School on Weekends or Online

Provide an opportunity for students to attend on Saturdays, with a different day off during the week

Advantages Disadvantages Not all students would all be in the building on Monday through Friday More flexibility towards students and teachers

Takes away from the traditional high school experience More teachers would be neededHarder to keep track of students and maintain contact with them

Improving Current High Schools

Improve schools by adding space, renovating, or increasing classroom size
