Dairy, Lactose, and The Holy

Grail of Weight Loss

By Russ Nagamori

Many have asked why I will purposely advise a

person to cut out all dairy from their daily diets.

It is one of the best things that one can do to

increase their weight loss progress. They also

question lactose consumption (or lack of) when

choosing not to consume dairy.

Let’s Grow Big and Strong

Lactose is very important for our growth when

we are new to this world. Lactose is a sugar

molecule that is found in milk and other dairy

products. Inside the intestines, an enzyme

known as Lactase is produced in order to digest

Lactose. (With people that are Lactose

Intolerant, their intestines don’t produce

enough Lactase. This makes it hard to digest

Lactose). Its main function is to help energize

the body. Energy is essential to promote growth

and movement in the human body. The best

part is that you don’t need milk as an adult. You

can receive natural sugars that will promote the

same growth by eating healthy foods.

The Lack Of

In general, dairy usually lacks adequate

nutrients. What the dairy businesses do then is

“enrich” the dairy products. This means they

add nutrients in it. And surprising enough, dairy

usually has a low measurement of Calcium. If

you added dark leafy greens into you daily diet

you would receive more Calcium than you

would milk. It would be much cheaper as well.

As babies we need milk as we cannot chew and

digest other food. Milk provides us with some

nutrients and energy that we initially need to

grow. If breast fed, a baby can also absorb the

antibodies from the mother and create a

stronger immune system.

Supplementing

Almond Milk seems to be the new craze for

people who are lactose intolerant. It’s also a

trend for people who know that milk is not a

necessity. Any product to take the place of milk

is not necessary. If we really think about it,

when we are told that milk is good and we are

trying to lose weight, we are drinking a

substance with a high fat content. Not only is

there a high fat content, but if we fail to burn

off the energy we get from the lactose in milk –

it stores the extras in your fat cells.

The Conclusion

If we are trying to lose weight, we can avoid

dairy completely. Your body won’t miss it. It’s

not just the fact that we don’t need Lactose as

adults specifically but also the fact that we can

get an energy supply from other foods as well.

Complex Carbohydrates are a great source for

energy as they are the body’s primary source of

energy.
