How Did You Attract
Your Audience?
We knew when in the production of our thriller that the
audience would obviously want to experience a high
amount of suspense. In order to please to audience we
made a number of choices whilst filming and editing. A lot
of the mis-en-scene is darkly lit. This emphasizes the
thriller theme. Our choice of set location, for example the
basement corridor was used because it gives off the
impression of a secretive, hidden location especially in the
case of the President of The United States.
This is an example of a camera shot from our
thriller. If this was seen in the trailer or indeed in
the opening sequence it would attract our
potential target audience through the use of mis-
en-scene. You can see a voice chart in the
background with a blurred mysterious character
in the foreground (the hacker). One of the key
features of the film is sold here, which is the
technological aspect.
Another snapshot from our thriller can be seen
here. Played by Ted as the English Prime
Minister. Again the key theme of technology can
be seen again in the use of a MacBook Pro
Laptop.
The other more obvious theme is also present in
this screenshot too which, is the politically
orientated genre. We have attracted our audience
here through the use of these two key themes.
Once again here we are presented with the
technological attractive aspect of the film to the
audience, along with the political aspect. We have
used Adobe After Effects to create the green screen
effect in the background of the shot which may also
attract audiences because they like the use of
special effects.
We have decided to address the audience here
through the use of editing the titles. We had the
titles come up as though they were being typed. We
did this so that the audience gained a better
understanding of the genres present in the thriller.
