How did you use new media technologies in

construction and research, planning and evaluation progress?

New Media TechnologiesWhen I was doing my practical media project, I used variety of new media technologies such as Adobe photo shop, final cut pro and YouTube.

These technologies greatly benefited my studies and allowed me to further develop and enhance my magazine front cover, horror poster and horror trailer.

When undertaking my A2 Media Studies practical project, I was able to develop on the techniques that

I had learnt in AS where I created an opening to a thriller film, I also used a different website hosting

service to record information about my horror production.

In my AS Media studies practical project, I used Weebly to record my progress

with my research and planning, evaluation, construction and preliminary task of my media products and in A2 I

did the same. The advancement of new media technologies allowed me to use

Weebly which I believe works efficiently.

Research and planningWhilst undertaking research and planning for my A2 practical project, the use of new media technologies greatly benefited my ability to produce tasks.

For instance, in the research and planning stages of my practical project, I used a green screen to complete my trailer analysis. With the use of the green screen, it enabled me to to go into deeper depth and expand upon points buy using evidence that appeared behind me. New media technologies such as green screen were a of great benefit to my studies as I was able to use the technologies to go into deeper depth.

For my research and planning I also used new media technologies such as YouTube. YouTube was greatly beneficial in the research and planning section as it

allowed me to gain inspiration by viewing other horror trailers. YouTube also enabled me to research the film

trailers that I analyzed in my trailer analysis in the green screen room.

Construction

During the construction stages of my practical project, new media technologies were incredibly useful in aiding me to create my horror trailer,

horror poster and magazine front cover.

When creating my horror trailer, again new media technologies such as cameras, editing soft ware and YouTube greatly

benefited the way I was able to produce my horror trailer.New media technologies such as cameras allowed me to film

my trailer at the back of the hall.When editing my trailer, I found that the soft ware final cut pro was very useful in cutting and editing my trailer and also it was easy for me to add effects and music as well. The editing soft

ware enabled me to edit my horror trailer to make it have more of an impact with my target audience.

YouTube again here, was very beneficial during and after the production process of my horror trailer. At first I gained

inspiration from previous horror production as mentioned before, however, I was also able to upload my final horror trailer

so that it could be accessed from my Weebly blog.

When creating my magazine front cover and horror poster, new media technologies such as cameras and Adobe Photoshop allowed me to create and edit.

For example when creating my horror magazine front cover, I used Adobe Photoshop to add the blood splatter onto the face mask on antagonists face.

In my theatrical poster I used a camera to shoot the raw image of the hand. I used photo shop to add the blood effect and make it look more realistic.

Evaluation

At the stage of my evaluation for practical project, I used a variety of new media

technologies such as green screens, Prezi, SlideShare, StupeFlix and YouTube

I used new media technologies such as Prezi and SlideShare to upload presentations to my blog. These allowed to answer the evaluation question in greater depth as I was able to elaborate

on certain points with the use of images and embedded videos.

As well as Prezi, SlideShare and StupeFlix I also used green screen in order to

discuss one of my evaluation questions which, allowed me to go into greater detail and elaborate on certain points with images and videos that appeared

behind me.

Conclusion

In conclusion, I believe that using new media technologies in my A2 practical project was greatly beneficial as it allowed me to use new and innovative methods od

displaying information.
