DESCRIPTION

The Palm Beach Post, Monday, March 17, 1997, page 1A. In the early 1920s, the Stub Canal was used to transport thousands of crates of Glades produce to railroad cars. The Turning Basin had docks, slips and a spur line for the railway. Eighty years later, some local people want the canal and turning basin to be on the National Register of Historic Places, but others say it impedes development.
