How New Zealand Manuka Honey Helps Maintaining Oral Health

Did you know that proper oral hygiene and health is critical to the rest of

your body’s health long-term? We control our health by eating and

drinking the right goods, etc. If our oral health declines, a lot of that

freedom goes away and we’re limited to soft foods or liquid options

only. Taking proper care of our oral health is going to be mission

critical to taking care of the rest of you, too!

Top tips for the best oral health outlook

Overall, taking a proper approach to oral health means looking at some

of the expected ways, and throwing in a few “surprises” to help you

keep on top of things the right way:

Eat it: You can eat your way to better oral health through solutions

such as New Zealand Manuka Honey, fiber-rich veg, and even

green or black tea (add honey to it for extra bonus points). These

are all going to help keep your teeth, gums, and general mouth

clean and bacteria-free.

Get fluoride-rich toothpaste, etc.: From toothpaste to

mouthwash, you’ll want to get fluoride products to help keep your

teeth extra strength. Also, when you go in for your normal

cleaning, ask for a fluoride treatment. It’s a great top-up on top of

your regular dental hygiene habits.

Keep your tongue clean: Most people don’t realize that they’re

supposed to clean their tongue, but it’s just as important as teeth

and gums! Brush your tongue with your toothpaste brush, or get a

different brush entirely, if you wish. Plenty of bacteria can live on

your tongue, so don’t skip this step!

Brush often and properly: Brush at latest twice a day, or after

each meal, and make sure that you're using the right toothbrush

and technique! For example, a soft toothbrush with gentle

brushing for all of your teeth (front and back) is going to take 2-3

minutes to do right. If it’s just a quick flick, you aren’t effectively

cleaning your teeth. Don’t be afraid to give the top of your mouth

and cheeks a gentle brush, too!

Inspect any sores, abnormalities, etc.: Sores and cuts happen,

especially if we eat quickly. Keep an eye on any kind of sores,

scratches or swellings in your mouth and add in a salt rinse to help

keep them clean and infection/bacteria free. If anything seems out

of the ordinary, or you fear an infection, get in to see your dentist

as soon as you can to make sure you catch any kind of

complication as soon as possible.

Simple changes can make huge differences

Even if you didn’t realize just how important and multifaceted oral

health was, it’s nice to see that simple changes such as fluoride

toothpaste and a dollop of New Zealand Manuka Honey to your tea

can help you get on top of it. It’d be nice if everything was this easy,

right?

If you want to protect your long-term health, it’s going to start with your

mouth and all of the things that go into it!
