F or sure, it truly did prove the setting for my dream day. Friends still tell me it was the loveliest and most memorable wedding ever. There were countless reasons for their enthusiasm. The lake front setting is romantic and rustic. The architec- ture is stunning. No other venue overlooks such lush green hills surrounding such a lovely lake. As the sun played upon the lapping, spring-fed waters, we took our vows on the bucolic lawn. Sunset cocktails followed on the wide plank deck. Then we moved inside to the stunning, rustic banquet hall overlooking the lake. Guests who wandered to the upper deck gazed in wonderment at the rising yellow moon in the sky, and its shimmering reflection in the lake. The dinner was wonderful and all the speeches seemed to get a special lift from the rich timber paneling. The lilting music set all hearts alight and all toes to dancing. I took her wise words to heart and explored countless locations. Soon enough, I realized that nothing compared to the historic Sedgewood Club Boat House. Unfortunately, my mere words cannot do full justice to the beauty and the old world charm of the Sedgewood club. (The status and allure also comes at surprisingly affordable price tag.) So, if you’re planning a wedding that you’d like to look back on, as I do, with fondness and wonderment— or if you know someone who is—I suggest you visit the website www.thesedgewoodclub.com (where downloadable floor plans are also available).
