Shoot in Manual Mode Turn Flash Off or don’t raise your flash.

Good settings to start with:ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1/2 or .5” F-Stop: F11

*** If photos are too dim, slow down your shutter speed (2, 5, 8”, etc.)***

Long Exposure Tips4

1. Always use a tripod2. DSLR Remote Sutter is helpful3. Set a long shutter - 30”, 60”4. Set shutter to “Bulb” which means the shutter stays open as long as the shutter button is pressed

Long exposures are good to capture city fireworks, family

members setting off fireworks, and kids with sparklers.

Varying Your Focal Length5

If you want a tight close shot, try using a zoom lens that goes to at least 200mm.

When you change your focal length, you must refocus your shot.
