First, gather supplies:

Old flower pots

Primer, paint, and brushes

Waterproof glue

Step 1: Thoroughly wash and dry the

pots.

Step 2: Paint the outsides of the pots

dark green. Once dry, paint the inside of

the pots. Paint the insides of the smaller

pots light green and the bottom white.

When dry, add black paint to the inside

bottom for the eyes. Ley dry.

Step 3: Add generous amount of strong wa-

terproof glue on the large pot. Stick the

small pots to the large one, one at a time (a

parent may be needed). Tip: Hold the pot

in place with rubber bands and let the first

one dry completely before adding the sec-

ond pot.

Step 4: Paint black nostrils on the rim of the

large pot. The paint and glue should cure

72 hours before placing the house outside.

Step 5: Partially bury the house as shown.

You can add some bling to your new Toad

Abode, with a pebble sidewalk, a painted

saucer for a pond or a sign that says

“Welcome!” Then share a photo of your

house on The Nature Foundation at Winter-

green Facebook page, or send your com-

ments to our Peace Out(side) page on our

website www.twnf.org.
