How to connect your iPhone to Alexa on the Kenwood KDC-BT640U

1. Connect the iPhone to the Kenwood KDC-BT640U via “BLUETOOTH”

1a. SETTINGS > BLUETOOTH Ensure your Bluetooth is switched on. Then select [KDC-BT640U] from the OTHER DEVICES list

1d. The iPhone will now display Allow Contacts and Favourites Sync? Select [PAIR]

1b. When your iPhone has found the KDC-BT640U, it will ask to pair. Select [PAIR]

2. You will now require the Amazon Alexa App on your iPhone and also an account needs to be set-up before proceeding. Once downloaded from the App Store DO NOT OPEN the Amazon Alexa App via the App Store. Close the App Store and then open the Amazon Alexa App directly. If you already have this app and it has been setup go to Fig 3.

3. Open Amazon Alexa App and select [DEVICES]

1c. The KDC-BT640U will also display Push the “VOLUME BUTTON” on the KDC-BT640U to accept pairing

7. Then press the [MICROPHONE] button on the KDC-BT640U The KDC-BT640U will display “DISCONNECTED”

9. Select [CONTINUE]8. Select [KDC-BT640U] 10. Your iPhone should display “SETUP COMPLETE”

11. Click on [DONE] on Alexa App

You can ask Alexa - “Alexa traffic information for my drive home?” For this feature you need to setup location information for your traffic update. To do this go to Alexa app: • Select the [3 LINES SYMBOL] top left hand corner• [SETTINGS]• Scroll down to [TRAFFIC] and select • Enter location information

Press the [MICROPHONE] button on KDC-BT640U When the KDC-BT640U displays “LISTENING” ask Alexa “Alexa traffic information for my drive home?”

When Alexa is talking it will display “SPEAKING” on the display of the KDC-BT640U

12. Press the [MICROPHONE] button on the KDC-BT640U When the KDC-BT640U displays “LISTENING” ask Alexa a question - “Alexa weather for today?”

5. Select [ADD DEVICE]
