  • 1. How to create 96 e36 BMW remote key without programmer? So, you have a new two button BMW remote for 96 e36 and how to get itprogrammed to your car?Several years ago, every time I need to do this I had to go to thedealer or locksmiths and they would make one with BMW Multi Tool keyprogrammer. These days, I search several sites to get various partsto the procedure, although they seem to leave out a step or two, andcreate the key myself. Here is my very cut and dry instructions forthe two button OBDII remote programming.1. Close the doors, hood, and trunk with car unlocked.2. Open the trunk lid.3. Open the drivers door.4. Sit in the drivers seat.5. Close the drivers door.6. Put the key in the ignition. You must do these first five stepswithin 45 seconds.7. Cycle from the off position to the ("almost start") secondposition five times. Do this step within 10 seconds.8. Open the drivers door.9. Close the drivers door.10. On the remote: Press the large button.11. On the remote: Press the small button.12. On the remote: Press the large button and hold until it flashesonce.13. On the remote: Press the small button and hold until it flashesonce.

2. 14. Up to four remotes can be recognized by the car's alarm system. As they are recorded, the oldest remote information will beoverwritten.15. Open the drivers door.16. Get out of the car.17. Close the trunk lid.18. Close the drivers door.19. The programming is complete.20. Test the new remote(s)21. EnjoyPS: In this procedure, the key is not programmed. A key can beprogrammed only by BMW key programmers like BMW Multi Tool. By doingso, the car will recognize the remotes signals, and allow it tolock/unlock your car, and for it to arm/disarm the car's securitysystem.
