NWEA - Overview

Adaptive, growth-based assessments All grades, math and reading

Taken 2-3 times per year, depending on the grade level’s testing environment Can be taken as needed (RTI)

Adapts to student responses to determine their “level” of overall skill.

At 42 (reading) and 52 (math) questions, one of the biggest hassles is scheduling.

Final Thoughts

Data-driven organizations do it better by: recognizing that data doesn’t belong to IT expecting all employees and departments to share

data supporting using data in employees’ day-to-day work investing in training employees about how to use

data in their jobs tolerating questions and disagreements about

decisions – as long as it’s based on data analysis having executives that value data and support a

data-driven culture
