How to DownloadeBooks onto an eReader from Project Gutenberg

What is Project Gutenberg?

• Online catalog of books in the public domain, so older classics (and some not so classic)

• Founded in 1971, it is the oldest digital library

• Over 34,000 items in its catalog.

• Freely available to download to eReaders or for audiobooks to MP3 players/iPods/etc.

1) Start at our Overdrive site: wakegov.lib.overdrive.com. Select the graphic “Additional eBooks. Always Available”.

2) We will do a search for A Tale of Two Cities. Enter search term, and select “Search”.

3) Right-click “Download” under the book, and select “Save Link As…” (or “Save Target as…”)

4) In “Documents” open the folder “My Digital Editions” created by Adobe Digital Editions.

5) Change the file name if you would like, and select “Save”.

6) Open Digital Editions & connect eReader to computer. Click File & select “Add to Library”.

7) Select eBook from list. Select “Open”. This will place it in Adobe Digital Editions Library.

8) Grab eBook and drag to eReader icon.
