How to get the most out of Smart working
ORGANISING: the keyword
Working from home in smart working is a new opportunity to integrate your private and working life. UniCredit was one of the first companies to introduce work remotely and now offers you this short guide where you can find some simple tips to make the most of your work, your time and your well-being.
Smart working allows us to work together in a different way, organise ourselves, communicate better, discover and learn.
Anytime, anywhere: time and space take on a new meaning, we manage change with a flexible and positive approach
Identify priorities
Collaborate
Be responsible and punctualGet to on-line appointments on time and be prepared, setting goals in advance. It will help everyone to be more efficient and effective
Keep your agenda up to date at all times
Programme audio or video alignment meetings to share activities and schedules
Plan your daily activities, focus on the basics and keep them in mind even if there are changes in your schedule
Organise appointments and deadlines: it helps you to make remote work planning and coordination between colleagues more fluid
Give confidenceRespect each other's time, including rest times. We work towards shared goals, even at a distance, even if at different times and in different ways
COMMUNICATE: new rules, same needs
Not being physically present does not mean not being there. The quality of communication does not depend on where we are but on the content we transmit
Choose the correct channel
Give and ask for feedback
Keep the relationship alive
Look for your colleagues for a virtual coffee too
Less is more Always express your opinion and give everyone a chance to do so. Every contribution can make a difference; make sure your message reaches its destination and that everyone understands it
Find the most effective way to communicate your project (chat, video/call, e-mail)
Simple, clear and concise communication, with faster and more focused meetings; at the end, summarise the decisions made and the next steps for the benefit of all
Be empatheticPut yourself in other people's shoes, listen, speak slowly and clearly to shorten distances and encourage collaboration towards a common goal
BE WELL in the "new" work environment: the home
Integrating personal and work space also gives us an opportunity to experiment with new behaviours and new rules
Create your own space
Take care of your well-being
Think about yourself
Do’s Don’ts
When organising your day, plan the time needed to reconcile work with the other needs of your personal and family life
Share the rulesRemember to take your eyes off the PC screen and get up at regular intervals, adopt correct positions and postures. Take small breaks
Define a dedicated work area, adapting it to your needs
Make those who live with you aware of your times and schedules and participate in the "new" needs to live together serenely
Create your own technology free space Establish moments without technology, dedicating yourself to activities that are “technology free”
· manage multiple activities simultaneously, during remote meetings· send too many e-mails, or use it as the only channel to handle emergencies· always stay connected
· define a comfortable working environment· adopt an organized, daily routine· plan priorities· reduce meeting times, including only necessary participants · plan time to take care of your loved ones
