STYLISTIC INFLUENCES

We are looking at channel 4 documentary's as we are influenced by the fresh and

modern style of them. They are accessible and have opened the younger generation

to documentary’s and we would like to do the same with our documentary. We have

specifically looked at Thelma’s gypsy girls and Marys bottom line. The reason we

have chosen these documentary for influence is the fact the conventions inspire us

such as the fact it is informational but entertaining and keeps the younger

generation entertained and wanting to keep watching it. Thelma's gypsy girls

stemmed from a previous documentary about the fashion of gypsy life, we want our

documentary to be as popular giving us the opportunity to perhaps make another

documentary. Our dcumentary will be an interactive documentary as the

filmmakerwill be present on screen and makes the action heppen.

AUDIENCE

Our target audience is for young people aiming to go

into the fashion industry or people generally

interested in fashion. As our documentary is going to

be an insight into the fashion industry and will

therefore inspire and influence the audience and

hopefully encourage them to do what they want to

do in the fashion industry. Our documentry will be

shown on channel four as channel four are known for

there entertaining up to date documentary's.

VISUAL AND SOUND STYLE

We will be having many interviews which will be

spontaneous and in the style of talking heads. We

will have montages at the beginning of clips to be

shown later in the documentary. We shall have the

presenters voice over running over the video.

MISE EN SCENE

We are planning on going to local university's that

run fashion courses to interview related people. We

will also be going to local fashion boutiques. We will

have a female presenter interviewing the subjects

and providing a voiceover.

NARRATIVE STRUCTURE

We will be starting with an introductory voice over

and montage of clips before beginning to interview

tutors, students and local fashion designers.

ANCILLARY TASK 1

We will be making a double page magazine spread

which will be an article about our documentary. In

this we will include an interview with the film

makers where we will discuss the details behind the

documentary. We will include snap shots of the

documentary and review quotes.

ANCILLARY TASK 2

We will be creating a newspaper advert advertising

our documentary, within this newspaper there will

be time as to when it will be

TEAM ROLES

As we a working as a two we have decided to split

the roles equally and both work on directing, the

following are the team roles.
