1: Attach Electrodes

Position of Electrodes

Prep the patient by cleaning the skin and shaving if necessary Connect the ECG electrodes as shown Place the electrodes in the correct positions as shown above Connect the leads to the machine and then connect to the electrodes

on the patient

Instruct the patient to remain still and relax their shoulders and legswhile the recording takes place

2: Select Mode

Press the ON button for the machine Ensure that the ECG machine is on the 12 - Lead setting

(You will know if it is in the incorrect setting if the machine flashesLimb Modeat the top of the screen)

o If it is not on the correct setting you will need to togglebetween the two modes

o Select MORE (F6)o Then press the SHIFT( )/ALT/i buttons at the same

time to change between Limb Lead and standard12-Lead settings

3: Upload Patient information

4: Check the quality of the readings

Check the traces are clear on the screen If you are unhappy check patient connections and/or relax patient

(For a clearer view of traces press LEADS (F2) to view the leads ingreater detail)

In the case of mains interference check:

ECG lead is not running close to a power cable. You are not using an electric bed If you are using a metal bed remove local power cables

In case of poor trace quality check:

Right leg connection Relax patient Check that the skin prep has been done properly

5: Capture the ECG

PressAUTO The traces will freeze and the time and the wordDoneappear at the

bottom of the screen

Check the quality of the ECG traces.(If you are unhappy with the quality, press Done (F6),check yourelectrodes, settle the patient etc and repeat step 5)

6: Transmit the ECG to the server

Press theXMT button The ECG machine will now connect to the Vodafone network,

make a connection to our server and transmit the data.

Check that the Transmission Status saysTransmit Complete

7: Turn off the machine

Once you are done with the patient, press the POWERbuttonto turn off the ECG and clear it for the next patient.
