The History of Roulette Roulette is the game that defined Monte Carlo as the

high class casino capital of Europe

This stylish and elegant casino was built in the city in 1863, but the success of one player left the casino unable to pay their debt, leaving the future of the building to be uncertain

Having made a fortune with the single zero Roulette wheel, Francois Blanc moved to Monte Carlo in the late 1860s following a gaming ban in Germany

He began attracting wealthy players to the city to try

their luck against the Roulette wheel

The History of Roulette Monte Carlo continues to be renowned as the Roulette

capital of the world

Even today, many wealthy gamers from around the globe aspire to enjoy the glamour and excitement of playing Roulette in the Casino de Monte Carlo

However, you no longer need to travel to Monte Carlos or even your local casino to enjoy the excitement and fun of Roulette

With the constant development of the internet, Roulette and other casino games are now available to play online. You can now chance your luck from the comfort of your own home

The Roulette Wheel The outer edge of a single zero Roulette wheel is marked with

numbers 0 to 36. An American style Roulette Wheel also has numbers 0 – 36 with the addition of a ‘00’ double zero

Inside this circle of numbers are corresponding pockets, where the Roulette ball can land when the wheel stops spinning

The design of the Roulette wheel is accredited to a French physicist named Blaise Pascal

Pascal was trying to invent a machine with perpetual motion. He was unsuccessful, but the prototype is believed to be the basis of the Roulette wheel

In addition to the wheel, there is a ball and a table marked with numbers, where the players place their chips on these numbers to make their bets

How to Play Roulette Roulette is a game of chance and it is easy for any

new player to understand the rules of the game

There are no complicated rules or statistical knowledge to master before you take part. It is this simplicity that makes it appealing to new and experienced players alike

The wheel is spun and when in motion, the ball is dropped into the wheel. As the wheel slows down, the ball starts to bounce before settling into a numbered pocket. As the wheel stops, the game ends

The players that successfully predicted the correct

number for the ball to land in are paid and the casino keeps the losing bets

Betting on Roulette There are two types of bets or wagers in a game of

Roulette. The first are the‘Inside Bets’ Inside Bets are when you bet on specific number,

which is made by placing chips on that number on the table

You can also bet on two adjacent numbers known as a Split Bet, by placing your chips on the line between the two numbers

Inside bets can also be played as Street Bets or Corner Bets, which means you can cover 3 to 4 adjacent numbers. It is also possible to play a Six Line Bet between six adjacent numbers

Betting on Roulette The second forms of bets are the ‘Outside Bets’ Outside Bets are when you bet on a colour (either

black or red), an odd or an even number or on a large group of numbers

One of these large group of numbers is called a Column Bet, in which you bet on a full row of numbers on the Roulette table

The chances of winning are higher with an Outside Bet,

which makes them more popular with new players, but the pay-out is far lower

Quick Roulette Tips Is it very important for you to remember that Roulette

really is a game of chance Each spin of the wheel produces a result which is not

affected or influenced by the result of previous spins As an example, you may have seen a series of red

wins, so feel it is time for a black win, but the odds of a black win are no different to another red

For these reasons, do not try to be too clever and create a Roulette strategy when you are playing in a live casino. Roulette results are completely random and do not cohere to statistics
