Installing a Framed Bamboo
Friendly Fence
These instructions walk you through installing aframed 1" Bamboo Friendly Fence. If you're
installing a 2" bamboo fence, you'll want to uselonger screws to comensate for the increase indiameter.

Materials:
5x5 fence posts (Cedar orpressure treated)
(2) 2x4s per section, plus (1) to roll
the bamboo panel out on, and
scrap for spacer blocks
(1) 1x5 per section
(1) 1x4 per section
2 1/4" and 3" deck scres
Tools:

and countersinkin$ scre holes

Instructions:
1 %et up le#el line and stake out *our post holes a fe inches less than + ft apart
to $i#e *ou some i$$le room
2 i$ post holes about 1+" across and 3-.3" deep
3 !lace and hold a 5x5 post in the hole ith one side a$ainst the le#el line 0his
puts the post on the plane established b* the line, hich the hole fence illfollo old a le#el a$ainst a side of the post perpendicular to the one a$ainst
the line and adust the post until its le#el
4 ill in about +" of dirt and pack it in ti$ht eep the post plum hile *ou fill in
dirt b* atchin$ the le#el and le#el line Continue until hole is full
5 6hen *our posts are in, measure for the exact len$th of 2x4 rails to run across
the bottom and top of each section of fence eep the bottom rail a fe inches
off the $round so that the bamboo, once its installed and flush ith the bottom
of the rail, ont touch the $round 0he hei$ht of the top rail depends on thehei$ht of *our 7amboo riendl* ence
Clamp the rails in place back from the front faces of the posts, lea#in$ ustenou$h clearance for the fence panel and the trim board
8 %ecure each rail ith (4) 2 1/4" stainless steel or deck scres (one on the topand to on each side) screed in at an an$le
