How to replace a front stabiliser linkon RENAULT CLIO II

This replacement procedure can be used for: RENAULT CLIO II (BB_, CB_) 1.2 16V (BB05, BB0W, BB11, BB27, BB2T, BB2U,BB2V, CB05,..., RENAULT THALIA I (LB_) 1.2 16V
The steps may slightly vary depending on the car design.

REQUIRED TOOLS:

Wire brush
WD-40 spray
Brake cleaner
Copper grease
Drive socket # 13
Torx bit T27
Wheel impact socket #19
Ratchet wrench
Torque wrench
Crow bar
Hydraulic transmission jack
Wheel chock
AUTODOC recommends:
CARRY OUT REPLACEMENT IN THE FOLLOWING ORDER:

Secure the wheels with chocks.

Loosen the wheel mounting bolts. Use wheel impact socket #19.

Replace the stabiliser links on RENAULT CLIO II in pairs.
The replacement procedure is identical for both stabiliser links onthe same axle.
All work should be done with the engine stopped.

Raise the front of the car and secure on supports.

Unscrew the wheel bolts.

To avoid injury, hold up the wheel when unscrewing the bolts.

Remove the wheel.

Clean the stabiliser link fasteners. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.

Unscrew the fastener connecting the stabilizer bar with the control arm. Use Torx T27. Use a
drive socket #13. Use a ratchet wrench.

Unscrew the fastener connecting the stabilizer link to the stabilizer bar. Use Torx T27. Use a
drive socket #13. Use a ratchet wrench.

Remove the stabilizer rod. Use a crowbar.

Clean the mounting seats of the stabiliser link. Use a wire brush. Use WD-40 spray.

Examine stabiliser bushes. Replace them if needed.

Ιnstall the transverse stabilizer link. Use a crowbar.

Support the stabilizer bar. Use a hydraulic transmission jack.

Tighten the stabiliser link fastener. Use Torx T27. Use a drive socket #13. Use a ratchet
wrench.

Tighten the fastener connecting the stabilizer bar with the control arm. Use Torx T27. Use a
drive socket #13. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 50 Nm torque.

Tighten the fastener connecting the stabilizer link to the stabilizer bar. Use Torx T27. Use a
drive socket #13. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 50 Nm torque.

Remove the transmission jack from under the stabilizer bar.

Treat all joints of the stabiliser link. Use copper grease.

Treat the surface where the brake disc contacts the wheel rim. Use copper grease.

Lower the hydraulic transmission jack smoothly, without jerks, toavoid damaging assemblies and mechanisms.

Clean the wheel rim mounting seat. Use a brake cleaner.

Install the wheel.

After applying the spray, wait a few minutes.

Screw in the wheel bolts. Use wheel impact socket #19.

To avoid injury, hold up the wheel when screwing in the fasteningbolts.

Lower the car and working in a cross order, tighten the wheel bolts. Use wheel impact socket
#19. Use a torque wrench. Tighten it to 120 nm torque.

Remove the jacks and chocks.
