Track clicks on your website as conversions
You can use conversion tracking to track when someone clicks a button or
link on your website. For example, you can track when
someone clicks a “Buy now” button.This presentation explains how to add and edit a conversion tracking tag to your website to track customer clicks
Why use it?
You may want to track clicks as
conversions if you want to track
when your website’s visitors
do one of the following:
Make a payment on a
3rd-party payment
page. If your customers click a purchase button and then pay on a 3rd-party page,
they may not return to your site's purchase confirmation
page.
Download a file. Track when your customers
click to download a white paper,
app, or other file.
Click referral links. Track when your customers click a referral link to another
website.
Setup of conversion
tracking step by step
STEP 1: GO TO CLICK ON TOOLS AND THEN CLICK ON CONVERSIONS
STEP 2: CLICK ON CONVERSION
STEP 3: THEN SELECT WEBSITE
STEP 4:THEN ENTER YOUR NAME,VALUE,COST,CATEGORY
CLICK ON SAVE AND CONTINUE
STEP 6:THEN YOU WILL SEE FOLLOWING DETAILS WITH YOUR TRACKING CODE WHICH YOU WILL ADD INSIDE YOUR <BODY> </BODY> TAG
STEP 7:FINALLY CLICK ON DONE.. AND COPY YOUR TRACKING CODE PASTE ON YOUR WEB PAGE
NOTE: PASTE INSIDE YOUR <BODY> YOUR TRACKING CODE HERE</BODY> AND
UPLOAD IT ON SERVER USING FTP CLIENT.
TO CHECK WHETHER THE CONVERSIONS ARE RUNNING CORRECTLY YOU NEED TAG MANAGER EXTENSION.DOWNLOAD IT FIRST
YOU CAN DOWNLOAD FOR YOUR PARTICULAR BROWSER.I AM DOWNLOADING FOR GOOGLE
CHROME
Add the extension in your browser
After successful installation
NOW CLOSE ALL THE TABS AND JUST OPEN THE WEBSITE PAGE IN WHICH PASTED THAT TRACKING CODE.CLICK ON TAG MANAGER EXTENSION->ENABLE->RECORD
JUST REFRESH THE PAGE.CLICK ON TAG MANAGER EXTENSION AGAIN.YOU CAN SEE THAT IT SHOWS THE
TRACKING .IF THIS COLOUR IS GREEN OR BLUE THAT MEANS EVERYTHING IS FINE.IF ITS RED THEN YOU NEED TO IX IT.
