How to solve the video interference in surveillance?

Sometimes owing to one technical problem or the other, consumers may encounter video interference in surveillance.Video interference in surveillance CCTV system is not a bigtechnical problem that requires expert attention. If youencounter such a problem in your surveillance system, you cansolve it by yourself. Video interference is of different types.Knowing the cause of video interference is a crucial step insolving the problem.

Below are the various types of video interference and their causes.

1. 50 hz frequency interference: In this type of video frequency interference in surveillance, black orwhite bar will appear on the screen moving up and down. The interference can result from powerperformance degradation of the equipment itself which occurs as a result of wrong equipmentgrounding lead voltagepotential differencecausing the formation of aloop in the system.

2. High frequencyinterference: This type ofinterference occurs whenthe transmissionfrequency becomes highcausing the images tohave a snowflake noise. When the frequencybecomes high, theamplitude of the signal willreduce.

3. Equal spacing bar interference: This type of interference causes the image to become pale orwhitish and the character image to jitter on the monitor screen. Equally spaced bars can also be

displayed on the screen. Equal spacing bar interference occurs because the video transmission cable’scharacteristics or the devices are not 75Ω impedance . This causes the impedance not to correspond.

4. Jump interference: This type of interference is not steady. They video will function properlysometimes and sometimes, interference will be experienced. It occurs when the power adapter is of lowquality or when the power supply or the video transfer cable is not good. This type of interference whichis also known as twill, pulse or power interference can be very serious resulting in the distortion of theimages to the point that it cannot be recognized.

5. Single frequency interference: This type of interference which is also known as the large areainterference of moire disturbance. when we meet this case, we should ensure that the connection isproperly done as stipulated in the user manual and no wrong cable is run across any other metalequipment or electronics. If proper installation is done, cases of interference will be minimal.ThenSingle-frequency interference can also occur if the shielding network as well as video cable core is shortcircuited or as a result of open circuit fault.Single frequency interference occurs when the cameras aremounted to a metal building side in such a manner that the camera maintain contact with the metalbuilding. The single interference can be stopped by separating the camera from the wall using a woodenmaterial.

Besides this, contact with other electronics, equipment, signals and elements of weather such as sunlight and rain can cause single frequency interference.

The above are five types of video interference experienced by consumers of CCTV surveillance. Whenwe experience video interference, the first thing that should be done is to analyze the interference inorder to determine the cause or the type of interference it is and then eliminate the cause in order tosolve the problem.

However, there are cases where the problem cannot be solved by simply eliminating thecause. In such cases, the methods given below can be used.

Ways of stopping interferenceThere are different ways through which interference can be stopped. Below are some of thethings you should do in order to stop interference.

1. Installing video anti-interference isolator

Video Anti-interference jamming device or isolator is a high-tech patent product that is very effective instopping interference. It works by separating all jamming signals or sources of interference. In this way,the interference will be stopped, the signal transmission will be enhanced and quality image will bedisplay by the system. Video anti-interference isolator makes use of high performance bandpass filter, broadband, high performance video separator and high performance video separator to isolate thevideo cable at the bottom from the centre of the entire system, separating it from the electrical signal. In this way, the video anti-interference isolator will be able to stop environmental interference resultingin pulse signals or high frequency.

2. Using a video ground loop or a modem to transmit higher signal frequency

Normally, the frequency of transmission will be lower if the distance of transmission is longer. In otherwords, the interference will be more if the frequency of transmission is lower and the intensity oftransmission is greater. Using a modem to transmit signal will increase the frequency and thus reducethe interference.
