Types of Up-gradation
a. Upgrade the Working Mode (Software).1) Case-1: To upgrade from 4E1 (1+0) to 16E1 (1+0)
2) Case-2: To upgrade from 4E1 (1+0) to 16E1 (1+1)
3) Case-3: To upgrade from 16E1 (1+1) to STM 1
b. Change the SCC Board (Hardware).c. Upgrade the Software version of IDU by TOOLKIT (without
changing SCC board).

Case 1
Objective:
To upgrade Huawei Microwave (RTN 600 series) from 4E1 (1+0) to 16E1 (1+0)
RTN Hardware Requirement:
PH1 Board Tributary cable DDF/Crone
RTN Software Requirement:
WEBLCT: With updated version (V2R6 software) Runtime Java (V5), required for WEBLCT
Tools & Test Equipment Required:
Punching/Wrapping tool Tie Cutter Screw driver setLabel Printer Knife E1 TagsTies BERT meter
Other Requirement
Revised Link Budget E1/DDF Plan Laptop with XP Windows LAN cable (With both sides RJ45 connectors)

Procedure: How to Upgrade;
1. Please refer to “How to Login in Huawei RTN” document, if you are having difficulty in login;
2. After you login, following window will appear;(Make sure, all cards are green color, which means “Installed & Running”
Saving “Cross Connect Configuration” (very important…)
3. Click NE (NE49136) click “Function tree” click “Configuration” & click “Cross Configuration”;
[Note down “Cross Connect Configuration (CCC)” or take snapshot for re-configuration][After “CCC” is saved, delete configuration]
Up-grade Working Mode
4. Starting from “Far end”, Up-grade working mode; (4E1, 7MHz, QPSK 16E1, 28MHz, QPSK)

Creating “Cross Connect Configuration” (to restore services…)
5. Click NE Function tree Configuration Cross Connect Configuration;6. Click NEW Button.
7. Enter information of service (as saved) and click “OK” or “Apply”;
8. Install PH1 Board, DDF & Route the “Tributary cable”;
9. Patch E1 according to the given E1/DDF plan;

4. Install Hybrid Coupler, ODU, IF Cable, IF Board, PH1 Board, Tributary Cable, and DDF.

5. Make IF (1+1 Protection) and Configure the IDU according to the Revised Link Budget.
Up-grade Working Mode
6. Starting from “Far end”, Up-grade working mode; (4E1, 7MHz, QPSK 16E1, 28MHz, QPSK)
