HOW TO UPDATE THE FIRMWARE FOR QSEE DVR SYSTEMS

Model numbers: QS- 206, 218, 408, 434, 4474 and 464

STEP 1: Check what firmware version is currently installed on the DVR.

Go to Menu-Advance-Info. Look for the Firmware version.

STEP 2: Go to www.q-see.com/support In the Search window enter your DVR model number. Click Search

Click on the firmware for your DVR. Make sure the version number is newer than what you currently have on the DVR.

Click on the firmware download link and save.

STEP8: Open the download location by LEFT clicking “Open Folder” The file will be highlighted in BLUE

STEP9: Download and install, Winrar to your PC so you can open the Firmware file

On your PC, open Internet Explorer and go to www.rarlab.com.

Click on “Downloads”, then select the download link for “WinRAR x86 (32bit 4.20)”.

Be sure to click “Save” in the verification window and then click “Run”

In the Installation window for Winrar click, “Install” to begin the installation, then click “OK” on the File Association

screen, then “Done”.

STEP10: Prepare your USB flash Drive for the Firmware update.

Plug the Flash drive into your Computer, when the pop window appears, select “Open Folder To view Files”

Right click the Drive in the list on the left in the window, select “Format”

Match the Format settings with the image below. Click Start and a warning will appear click YES, once completed click

OK

STEP11: Extract the Firmware files to the Flash Drive

Go back to the Download location of the file. Right click the file and select extract to “dvrupgrade/” The file will be in a

folder named “dvrupgrade” Right click that folder and select CUT

Go back to the Flash drive and Right click in the blank area, Left click Paste

Disconnect the Flash drive from the PC and go back to your DVR.

STEP12: Put the USB flashdrive into the appropriate USB port.

STEP13: On the channel display, right click and select “MAIN MENU” -> “Advance” -> “Maintenance” Click on “System

Update” Click OK. The DVR will tell you it is updating, once the DVR reboots it will be running the latest version of the

firmware.
