What is Exercise Central

Exercise Central is a free grammar and punctuation website provide by Bedford/St. Martin’s publishing house. You can use it to help you understand various concepts you will need to understand and be able to use in writing your essay.

To begin, go to http://bcs.bedfordstmartins.com/exercisecentral/QuizHome.aspx?CourseID=15

Create an Account

Click to create a student account. Be sure to keep a record of your login and password.

Even if you know you don’t already have an account, enter the email address you want to use for this website anyway and click “go.”

The email address you entered will be here.

Fill out the form and click “register.”

Each time you return, enter with the login and password you created. Keep in mind that if you lose that information, I will not be able to retrieve it for you.

Log in to access materials.

Different exercises can be accessed through the menu on the left. Let’s try pronouns.

When the drop-down menu opens, you can choose which sections to work on. Sometimes, a specific section may be assigned. Let’s try “pronoun-antecedent agreement.”

As you can see, there are quite a

few exercises available

for pronouns. Assigned exercises are given

by number.

Types of Exercises

Un-scored exercises require you to write; they are un-scored because there many ways to write the answers to each item. When you submit the exercise, a suggested correct answer is given to which you can compare your answer. Let’s look at the end of the parallel verb form quiz.
