How to Use Movie Maker
1. Click on start, programs, windows movie maker2. Once it is open, on the left hand side under ‘capture video’, you will find an option
titled ‘import pictures’
3. Click on import pictures: a new window will appear- find the folder with the images you want to use (for example, students might have saved some images from the internet in a folder on their documents file)
4. Select the pictures you want to use and click on import in the bottom right hand side of the new window
5. the picture will now appear in the ‘collections’ pane- the main screen
6. Now all you have to do is click on the images, and while you are holding down the left mouse button, drag the photo into the first square along the timeline at the bottom of the screen
7. You can now continue to add images in the order you want, to delete any, just right click the mouse when the arrow is on the photo and select delete
8. You will now have many images along the bottom
9. Once you have all the images you want you can start adding transitions (special effects when the photos change)
10. On the left hand side, select edit movie, and click on show video transitions
11. You will see many different effects appear. You can left click them with the mouse and drag them into the space between the photos
12. Keep adding transitions till you are happy. You can also add effects, by clicking ‘show video effects’, and dragging the effect on the little star shape in the left hand corner of each photo on the timeline
13. To add music, simply click ‘import audio or music’ from the left hand menu, and import them like before
14. This time click on the show timeline button (it will change the timeline to a different view) and do the same as you did with the initial photos, this time dragging them below the photos
15. You can now play your movie. To save it, and return to it later, save it as a ‘project file’ just like you would with a Word document
16. To add a title at the start, select ‘make titles and credits’ from the left hand menu and follow the directions on the screen
17. To finish it permanently, select finish movie from the left hand side and select ‘save to my computer’
