Page 12: How to use Snapchat? Easy guide with screenshots

Step 10:

You can add friends in 4 different ways.

The simplest one is by typing their usernames.

Since few weeks, Snapchat now allows you toshare your own username with others. This helps

find your friends easier than it used to be.

"Quick add" shows up once Add Nearby functionis turned on. Here, Snapchat will find the friends

who are near you faster and easier!

Page 13: How to use Snapchat? Easy guide with screenshots

Step 11:

Make sure you know the username of yourfriend.

Snapchat doesn't suggest any friends to you -this is why it's important to type in the exact

username.

A new feature is added - celebrities that posttheir "Official Stories" have an emoji attached to

their usernames. Hence when searching for"Justin B... (you know who) will show a very

popular Justin with an icon next to his username.

Page 14: How to use Snapchat? Easy guide with screenshots

Step 12:

If you want to add your friends from your addressbook, Snapchat will ask you to allow access to

your phone.

Page 15: How to use Snapchat? Easy guide with screenshots

Step 13:

An address Book will appear showing all contactsthat are on Snapchat.

Simply click on the plus sign to add them.

You will be notified when they add you back.

Page 16: How to use Snapchat? Easy guide with screenshots

Step 14:

That's my favorite method of adding friends- Snapcodes!

Simply take a screenshot or a picture of yourfriend's profile picture (usually it's the ghost). You can do the same for your favorite brand.

Tap this photo and Snapchat will scan it (just likeQR code) and come back with the question to

add the person.

The yellow photo in my stream shows me that Iadded the person already.

Page 17: How to use Snapchat? Easy guide with screenshots

Step 15:

Let's take you back to the camera mode.

When you swipe to the right or click on thehamburger icon, "Stories" window opens.

This is where magic happens for brands.

Stories are collections of snaps and short videos. You can publish your story as well and it will be live

for 24 hours.

Search for specific usernames, click on Discoverfor news (next step), see what is currently live

or see what stories your friends posted.

Page 18: How to use Snapchat? Easy guide with screenshots

Step 16:

Discover window has a selection of premiumpublishers that share custom content with

Snapchatters.

When clicking on any of them, you'll be redirectedto their environment within Snapchat.

possible options to swipe, share, save and closethis story.

Page 21: How to use Snapchat? Easy guide with screenshots

Step 19:

This is one of the stories from the brandsthemselves. I followed one from O'Neill Womens.

It's a collection of short movies and photosclipped in a short story.

(There's a tiny clock in the top right corner - itshows how long the screen is displayed. If you

want to see the next one, just click on the clockand continue pressing)

Page 22: How to use Snapchat? Easy guide with screenshots

Step 20:

"Live" stories are curated from all snappers in theworld and created by Snapchat editorial team.

They usually refer to whatever is currentlytrending, e.g. a football game or a Fashion Week.Snapchat also takes you for a city trip showing

different landmarks or hotspots, e.g. in Argentinaor Greece.

The graphics are just amazing!

Page 23: How to use Snapchat? Easy guide with screenshots

Step 21:

Time to publish my story!

Go to the camera screen, take a picture (or a selfieby flipping the camera mode), and edit it.

Add emoji, text or change the color of the font.

The clock icon in the bottom left corner will askyou to select how long the snap will show on your

friends' app.

Page 24: How to use Snapchat? Easy guide with screenshots

Step 22:

The second icon will save your snap on your phone.

Third icon (with the plus symbol) will ask you topublish the story.

You can create a new snap and add it to the samestory published before. It simply updates your

story.

Page 25: How to use Snapchat? Easy guide with screenshots

Step 23:

Snapchat also offers Analytics!

If you publish your story, you can see how many"eyeballs" watched it.

Look out for an eye icon with the number next to it.My first story got 2 views! Need to work harder!

Page 26: How to use Snapchat? Easy guide with screenshots

Step 24:

If you want to see who viewed your story, click onit and simply swipe to the top.

A new window will appear with all users thatviewed it.

A second icon next to the eyeball shows you howmany people took a screenshot of your story and

saved it on their phones.

Page 27: How to use Snapchat? Easy guide with screenshots

Step 25:

And now here is my favourite feature on Snapchat- the Lenses!!!

It's not quite obvious, but in the camera windowmake sure you're in the selfie mode (yes time totake a selfie!). Tap on your face and press until

your face will get 'framed'.

A row of Lenses will appear - start clicking on anyof them and make a funny selfie!

Page 28: How to use Snapchat? Easy guide with screenshots

Some of the Lenses start animating when yourecord a video.

Be creative with your selfie and make a funny one!

You can still add text or emojis on a video.

Add it to your story or send it to your friend.

Lenses change everyday, which makes it a funthing to try out!
