INTRO – Do you know their name? Everyone on the count of three, say your name aloud. 1,2,3…. (kids all say their name.) We all know what our own name is, but do we know the names of the people in our name game? I’m going to show you some pictures and if you think you know the name of the character, raise your hand. Answers (starting at top left): Elsa, Woody, Totoro, Winnie the Pooh, Pikachu, Unikitty, Dora the Explorer, Tom and Jerry.

Today’s Big Idea is ‘What a Beautiful Name’. We’ll learn all about the power of Jesus’ name. Jesus’ name is probably the most famous name in the world! I believe in the power of Jesus’ name.

SUMMARY As believers, we have access to the most powerful force in the world, the name of Jesus! Jesus’ name is a super force that moves mountains and changes lives. John 14:13 (NIV), “And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.” When we pray and ask in accordance with His will and with faith, Jesus name is a powerful force! There is power in Jesus’ name. THE BIG QUESTION 1. What are the names of the people from the Bible story today?

Today we learned about Mary, Joseph, Gabriel, Herod, and Jesus!

2. What is the most powerful name?

The name of Jesus is the most important and powerful name the world has ever known! There is a name that is above all other names and that is the name of Jesus.

3. Are there any names above the name of Jesus?

No, the Name of Jesus is above all other names. Philippians 2:9-10 (NLT), “Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names, that at the name of Jesus ever knee should bow.” There are some powerful names in the world, but there is no name that is higher or more powerful than the name of Jesus.

scissors, markers or crayons.

• Directions: Give each child a ‘JESUS’ page and instruct them to color in each section with the color written in that section.

• Explanation: Today’s Big Idea is ‘What a Beautiful Name’. Jesus’ name is the most powerful name there is and is the most famous name in the world! I believe in the power of Jesus’ name.
