HOW TO WASH YOUR WIGTHE DO’S AND DON’T’S FOR EFFECTIVE SYNTHETIC WIG CARE

SHAMPOO FOR SYNTHETIC

HAIR

LEAVE IN CONDITIONER FOR

SHINE

A BASIN / LARGE BOWL TO

SOAK WIG

BRUSH / COMB

COLLAPSIBLE STAND /

SLENDER OBJECT TO AIR DRY

TOWEL

Fill basin with

cool/cold water

*NEVER use hot water on synthetic wigs

STEP 1

Add cap of

shampoo to

basin of water*Using you hands

make sure to mix

water and shampoo well

STEP 2

Place wig in

basin & soak

*Let soak for 15-30 minutes

STEP 3

After the wig has

soaked take it

out & use the

towel to pat dry

*You can gently pat dry the wig

by tapping it with the towel

STEP 4

Use collapsible

stand to air dry wig

*Do NOT blow dry or try to dry wig in the sun

(that will ruin your wig).

*Do NOT use a head form to dry your wig

because it will cause the cap to stretch

*You must let it air dry

STEP 5

When the wig is dry…

Spray a little bit of

leave in conditioner

**The leave in conditioner will

help add shine to your wig

STEP 6

Brush/Comb out the tangles

*Be gentle when brushing or combing

*Do NOT brush or comb when

the wig is wet because you will

damage the fibers

STEP 7

HOW OFTEN SHOULD YOU WASH YOUR WIG??

IT DEPENDS ON TWO MAIN THINGS

1. HOW OFTEN YOU WEAR YOUR WIG

2. DO YOU WEAR A CAP OR NOT

IF YOU WEAR YOUR WIG ALL DAY EVERY DAY, YOU

SHOULD WASH YOUR WIG EVERY 2 WEEKS

IF YOU ONLY WEAR IT FOR 1 OR 2 HOURS A DAY,

THEN YOU MAY NOT HAVE TO WASH IT FOR A

MONTH

IF YOU DON’T WEAR A WIG CAP… THE OIL AND

SWEAT FROM YOUR HEAD WILL MAKE IT

NECESSARY TO WASH YOUR WIG MORE OFTEN

IF YOU WEAR A WIG CAP YOU CAN WASH THE WIG

CAP TO KEEP IT FRESH AND REDUCE THE AMOUNT

OF TIMES YOU’LL NEED TO WASH THE WIG
