Getting to Opposing
Viewpoints is very simple. First
go to the Media center page on
our Lakeview High school
website. And click the button that
says RESEARCH.
How to get too… PART TWO!
On the RESEARCH page you will find in the second column a link to Opposing Viewpoints in Context. From here you can go straight to the database.

When you reach the database, you will reach this page.
Getting to an Article on… Opposing Viewpoints in Context There are many things
that you can do with Opposing Viewpoints
in Context. One such thing is finding articles, academic journals, and many other things. By
simply typing in a subject in the search bar you can find this
information. For example you could search Genetically
Modified Foods.
What you can do on the Subject PageOnce you are on the
subject page you can refine your search by clicking on any of the blue links on the left hand side of the page. These will directly link you to a new set of articles for you research or enjoyment.
What you can do with Your ArticleThere are many
things that you can do with the article
once you have picked them out.
All of the cool things you can do are also found on
the left hand column of the
article.
(First though it is better to first sign in with your google account)
Citing your SourceThe first option that you can use is a citation tool. With this tool you can cite the source you are using with ease. By pressing the drop box that says Export To: you can automatically export the citation to any to the websites. Some examples of these are EasyBib and Google Drive.
Downloading Your ArticleBy pressing the the tool
that says Download
you can download the
full article strait to places
such as Google Drive.
How to… HighlightBy simply highlighting the text with your cursor, you will see a small box appear with many colors. By clicking one of these you can highlight the text in that particular color.
How to… Take Notes By doing the same thing as you would to highlight, but
instead click on Notes, you can make and save notes on what
you are reading.
How To… TranslateYou can easily translate your article into any language that you want by clicking on the Translate button on the left hand side. After clicking on it, a drop box will appear in which you can pick the language.
How to… Change Font SizeIf you wanted to change the font
size of the article, you can press the small square buttons with the “A” in
the middle. This can sometimes
make the article easier to read.
