Free and Compulsory Education up to
Class VIII as per RTE Act
RTE Act says…• The RTE Act, which was passed in
2010, but it has taken more than 3 years now to ensure proper implementation of the same.
• 25% reservation in ALL schools for EWS –economically weaker section students
• The SMC –School Managing committee involving the participation all such stakeholders

Semi English Training
Since the demand for English medium schools is increasing , BMC has started Semi English classes as a pilot project this year
About 2400 BMC school teachers will be trained by the British Council this year and this will continue for the next four years.
Effectively 9600 teachers out of the 12,000+ teachers will be trained.

“Every child in school and learning”- should be the motto and it is responsibility of not only the authorities of the Education Department, but also all schools, NGOs, civil society, etc. should participate and ensure proper implementation of this Act.
