Make Your Vote Count!As a member of Beach Municipal, your vote is what makes you an equal partner in guiding and
directing your credit union. The following details the election process and provides information
regarding the Annual Meeting. All members are invited to attend, so please mark your calendars
and join us.
2008 Board of Directors Election & Annual Meeting1. The Nominating Committee has submitted nominations for three (3) seats for the Board of
Directors. Nominations for vacancies may also be made by any member at least eighteen
(18) years of age filing a written Petition containing signatures of at least 127 members (one
(1) percent of membership), a statement of qualifications and a signed statement agreeing to
serve if elected with the Secretary of the Board of Directors, Bill Siverd, no later than 5pm,
October 31, 2008.
2. When there is only one nominee for each position to be filled, the election will not be
conducted by ballot and there will be no nominations from the floor. If sufficient nominations
are made by the nominating committee or by petition to provide more than one nominee
for any position, ballots will be distributed to all members eligible to vote. To be eligible,
members must be at least sixteen (16) years of age.
3. Election to the Board of Directors shall be determined by plurality of vote. Voting will be
conducted by ballot box.
4. Ballots may be cast from 9am, Monday, November 24, 2008 until 5pm, Tuesday,
December 2, 2008.
5. Eligible members may also vote at the Annual Meeting if they have not previously cast a

KEvIN G. CARTINOMr. Cartino, a long time member, began serving on Beach Municipal Federal Credit Union’s
Board of Directors in 2005 and currently serves as the Vice Chairman. He began his career
with the Virginia Beach Police Department in 1976 and later earned a B.A. in Criminology from
St. Leo University. After retiring as a Detective, he worked part-time for the Virginia Beach
Sheriff’s Department. Mr. Cartino has additionally served his community as a Counselor for the
organization Street Law and as a mentor at Birdneck Elementary.
KATHRyN (KITTy) B. HILL Ms. Hill retired from the Virginia Beach Department of Human Services after 33 years of service.
Prior to that, she worked as a Counselor at what was then called Child and Family Services of
South Hampton Roads. Ms. Hill has also served as the Chair of the Social Work Advisory Board for
Norfolk State University, has been a member of and Chair of an Allocation Panel for the United Way
of South Hampton Roads, was President of the Virginia State Chapter of the National Association
of Social Work and currently serves on the Public Health Advisory Board. Ms. Hill, who earned a
B.S. degree from Hampton University and a Masters in Social Work from Clark Atlanta University,
has been a member of the credit union since 1972 and a member of the Board since 2005.
LOIS M. DALTON RITGERMs. Ritger has been a member of Beach Municipal Federal Credit Union since 1976 and a
member of the Board of Directors since 2005. In addition to her employment as a Records
Management Specialist, she serves for the Virginia Association of Government Archivists
and Record Administrators (VAGARA) and Kempsville High School’s Class of 1973 Reunion
Committee. She is also currently enrolled as a student at Tidewater Community College,
Virginia Beach Campus.

transactions on your behalf, conduct the operations of our credit union, follow your instructions
as you authorize, or protect the security of our financial records. Beach Municipal Federal Credit
Union does not and will not sell your personal information to third parties.
If you terminate your membership with Beach Municipal Federal Credit Union, we will not share
information we have collected about you, except as permitted or required by law.
How We Protect Your InformationWe restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you to those employees who have
a specific business purpose in utilizing your data. Our employees are trained in the importance
of maintaining confidentiality and member privacy. We maintain physical, electronic, and
procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations and leading industry practices to
safeguard your nonpublic personal information.
What You Can Do To Helpn Protect your account numbers, card numbers, PINs (Personal Identification Numbers) and
passwords. Never keep your PIN with your ATM, debit or credit card, for doing so can
provide complete access to your accounts if your card is lost or stolen.
n Use caution when disclosing your account numbers, social security numbers, etc. to any person
or entity. If an unknown person calls you, explains that the call is on behalf of Beach Municipal
Federal Credit Union and asks for your account number, be aware! Only official credit union
staff will have access to your information and will rarely need to ask for it.
n Keep your information with us current. It is important that we have current information on how
to reach you. If we detect potentially fraudulent or unauthorized activity or use of an account,
we will attempt to contact you immediately. If your address or phone number changes, please
let us know.
