2. Most info says to lie down next to a

desk short bookcase or filing cabinet.

Better yet, keep a water jug in your tub

and get in the tub; you may need the water

protective.

3. Think spiritually. Ask the Creator God

to save you. Thank Him for water and ask

for the water of life. Thank Him for the tub

and ask Him to clean you inside. This is not

saying you have to be religious or join a

church, but seek God and truth--open the

Bible and be open to its truths without

focusing on denominations..

Reasons for no rapture

before the 2nd coming!

Many scholars are no longer convinced...

The rapture is not clearly taught in the Bible and because of this, it's easy tojump to a mistaken conclusion. For example, Christ says that "when Hecomes and knocks," we should "open to Him immediately." Luke 12:36. Ifyou have been taught to believe in a rapture, it may be easy to think that'swhat Christ means here. But several points don't fit rapture teaching. Whywould Christ say, "Have your loins girded, have your lights burning" if Hewere going to rapture us, even from sleep? We don't need to sleep with ourclothes or lights on. This is about something else.

1. When Christ said, “One shall be taken, and the other left”(Matthew 24:39-40), He wasn't talking about a rapture. Luke givesmore details. The disciples asked, "Where, Lord? And He saidunto them, Wheresoever the body is, there will the eagles begathered.” (Luke 17:37). With this additional information, itsuggests that those who are taken are not raptured to heaven;they become the dinner for vultures. "One shall be taken and theother left" should not be understood as a rapture.

2. A pre-tribulation rapture is contrary to God’s way of dealingthroughout history. History supports that “we must through muchtribulation enter into the kingdom.” Acts 14:22. Our belief that itwon’t happen to us is based on a few texts that can be explainedto mean something else. Everyone in history lived through troubleand died, except for Enoch and Elijah (discussed below).

3. Christ said, “As it was in the days of Noah” (Luke 17:26).Noah wasn’t raptured; he came through the storm. Enoch wasraptured before Noah was even born, so his being taken toheaven had nothing to do with avoiding the Flood or tribulation.

4. Elijah was raptured, but Christ never said the end would be likeElijah for us. Elijah was raptured only after he confronted falseworship of Baal. Our confrontation will be with Antichrist when theUnited Nations mandates everyone to be marked or implanted foridentity purposes, but this will be contrary to the Bible, Revelation13:16,17; 14:9,10.

5. “As it was in the days of Lot,” Luke 17:28. Lot wasn’t raptured,he was told to flee, and Christ told us to flee because there wouldbe great tribulation, Matthew 24:15-21; Mark 13:14-20.

6. Everyone else in history has faced trouble and death. “Now allthese things happened unto them for ensamples, and they arewritten for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world arecome,” 1Corinthians 10:11.

7. When asked about the end of the world, Christ said tounderstand Daniel. The book of Daniel shows no rapture. Danieland his friends were tested by a series of life and deathsituations. "Daniel" means God is my Judge and we may only bejudged when we face death and do right. Otherwise we may be"fair-weather" Christians.

8. Christ was in the furnace with the three Hebrews. “Beloved, thinkit not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, asthough some strange thing happened unto you,” 1 Peter 4:12.God will be with us through the trials.

9. “Broad is the way, that leads to destruction.” Matthew 7:13.Millions of rapture books sold like “Left Behind” suggest a broadfollowing that does not fit well with the Bible’s teaching that “wemust through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God,”Acts 14:22.

10. “By their fruits ye shall know them.” The fruit of raptureteaching is a lack of Bible study in Revelation, thinking “we won’tbe around.” But Revelation is the only book that Christ promises a

most of his points. “Close” doesn’t usually get credit in anything but horseshoes, yet to scoff at a time that the Bible says scofferswould come puts us on the wrong side of the ledger, and since this is about “the end of days,” we would do wellto consider how close to right he may have been.

The “rapture” is not found in most translations of the Bible, but that doesn’t disprove the concept. But a

sudden snatch of believers to heaven could be wrong because some of the texts used to support it are about amarriage and the Bible gives us an example...

blessing for reading and "keeping those things that are writtentherein." Revelation 1:3. Revelation uses symbols and imagerythat we can decode from other parts of Scripture if we study andbecome familiar with the Bible.

11. We would feel like second class citizens in heaven if we were rapturedfrom trouble and lukewarm materialism (Revelation 3:17) if we did nothave the opportunity to face trouble manfully as did Daniel, Peter orPaul.

12. Rather than rapturing "lukewarm...miserable" Christians (Rev3:17), we should expect "the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to histemple...But who may abide the day of his coming...for he is like a refiner'sfire," Malachi 3:1,2. If we are faithful through this refining process (trumpetplagues of Revelation 8,9, the mark of the New World Order (Revelation13:16,17) and the 7 vials that fall on those who receive that mark (Revelation14:9,10; Rev 16) we will be ready to meet Christ when He comes visibly("every eye shall see Him, Rev 1:7, Revelation 19:11).

Camping rightly uses "a thousand years are as a day," (2Peter 3:8) but he dates the Flood at 4990 BC, a

thousand years off 4004 BC which millions of King James Bibles have for the creation, based on Ussher’sChronology and approximated by Sir Isaac Newton.

Astronomy confirms Newton: “May 5, 2000: The date that Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn will

line up with the sun and moon, the first time in 6000 years.” TIME Magazine, Jan 17, 2000.

That supports Genesis 1:14 when God put “lights in the sky for signs and seasons” as being 6,000 years ago (andcreation as 4000 BC). But Camping’s error in calculation is offset by his choice to use 7,000 years versus theBible’s giving man six days (Exodus 20:9) and 6,000 years. Speaking of the day of judgment, “one day is with theLord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day,” 2 Peter 3:8.

The Bible has a solar system alignment in which the sun, moon and stars “made obeisance” to Joseph who was

sold as a slave to Egypt, but after seven good years, his brothers bowed to him like the stars in his dream duringseven bad years that followed.

Coincidence or Could May 26, like the end of Noah's week, be HUGE? A HUGE earthquake May 26 would

mean it's Christ’s “knock” in Luke 12:36. This is a wedding parable and we must “open unto Him immediately” by

We forget the Old Testament model when God took Israel from calamity in Egypt to a covenant relationship

at Sinai and later said, “I am married to you,” Jeremiah 3:14.

The Bible’s best theologian (Paul) includes the Exodus when he wrote, “All those things happened unto them

for [types] and they are written for our admonition upon whom the ends of the world are come.” 1Corinthians10:1,11.

We are living amid unprecedented calamities. Calamities are a time of crisis. The Chinese characters for

crisis are two: danger + opportunity. The Greek word, krisis, is translated “judgment” in Revelation 14:7.

A time of judgment is impending and what we do in a crisis can determine our destiny. It did for Israel as they

left Egypt and bondage for the land that God promised to give Abraham and his seed.

When He got ready to do so, God attacked the gods of Egypt. They worshiped the Nile; it turned to blood.

They worshiped cattle; they got disease. Money is our god—“in this god we trust,” and it’s going! We’ve kickedGod out of courtrooms and classrooms; can we blame Him for withdrawing His blessing?

Camping was right on the issue of sin and a time for judgment, and his timing may have been close to right,

“as it was in the days of Noah,” Matthew 24:37. Christ said so in the context that we didn’t know the timing. TheFlood’s timing came after a week of scoffing, Genesis 7:4,11.

When His disciples didn’t understand Christ twice gave examples of a provision for travel in their law for

Passover a month later (Numbers 9:10,11), “for the kingdom of heaven is like a man traveling to a far country,”Matthew 25:14.

The provision was for Passover in the 2nd spring month.

Combining these two concepts, after a week of unleavened bread (Leviticus 23:6) for 2nd Passover) is May

The “rapture” is not found in most translations of the Bible, but

that doesn’t disprove the concept. But a sudden snatch of

believers to heaven could be wrong because some of the texts

used to support it are about a marriage with a precedent set in

Scripture.

Many Christians forget the Old Testament model when God took Israel from calamity in Egypt to a

covenant relationship at Sinai and later said, “I am married to you,” Jeremiah 3:14. The Bible’s

best theologian includes the Exodus when he wrote, “All those things happened unto them for

[types] and they are written for our admonition upon whom the ends of the world are come.”

1Corinthians 10:1,11.

Living amid unprecedented calamities, this is a time of crisis. The Chinese characters for crisis are

two: danger + opportunity. The Greek word, krisis, is translated “judgment” in Revelation 14:7. A

time of judgment is impending and what’s done in a crisis can determine destiny. It did for Israel as

they left Egypt and bondage for the land that God promised to give Abraham and his seed.

When God got ready to do so, He attacked the gods of Egypt. They worshiped the Nile; it turned

to blood. They worshiped cattle; they got disease. Money is the god of many today—“in this god

we trust,” and it’s going! Society kicked God out of courtrooms and classrooms; why shouldn’t He

withdraw His blessing from America?

Camping’s timing may have been close to right. “As it was in the days of Noah,” Matthew 24:37.

The question is, how much “as”? Noah entered the ark on the 10th day and people scoffed for a

week until destruction came on the 17th, Genesis 7:4,11.

The Flood had Passover timing as provided in Numbers 9:10,11. This year, the week of 2nd

Passover ends on May 25; will May 26 bring judgment for some?

Combining these two concepts, after a week of unleavened bread (Leviticus 23:6) for 2nd

Passover) is May 26, a date with some history.

A life-time medical missionary sent “Incredible Data” supporting the 26th of any month as a

potential calamity, as the tsunami on Dec 26, 2004, or the Mayan calendar ending on Dec 26,

2012.

is canceled by another error, ending up nearly right. May 21, 2011 won’t be the end of the world, but since

God reads the heart and discerns the motives of those who love and serve Him, many of Camping’s followers

may be blessed in a déjà vu of the 1844 “Great Disappointment” by a readiness for something else Christ

clued us for.

A Prediction for 2011, May 19?

Like cross-hairs on a gun sight, two timelines intersect on May 19, 2011.

May 19, 1780 was a historic “Dark Day” in New England. “The darkness was so complete that candles were

required from noon on. It did not disperse until the middle of the next night.”

Many took the unexplained darkness as an apocalyptic sign. (Wikipedia)

The anniversary 200 years later, May 19, 1980 was another dark day as ash from Mt St Helens erupting May

18, spread over three northwestern states. Mere coincidence?

Dr. Richard Ruhling, author and Bible conference speaker believes God was marking May 19 as suggested:

“the day of the Lord…a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness,” Zeph 1:14,15.

For the second timeline is based on Christ’s words, “You don’t know the day or hour” which have been

misunderstood. The Greek word, eido, means, consider, perceive, understand. Christ was saying, You don’t

understand, and each time he said it, he gave an example that fit a provision in their law for Passover a month

later, “as in the days of Noah,” when the Flood (calamity) came at Passover time, but in the second spring

month.

Jewish law also specified a late Passover if you were away on a trip (Numbers 9:10,11). Christ introduced his

last parable by saying, “You don’t know…watch, for the kingdom of heaven is as a man traveling to a far

country…” Could he be returning for some judgment at second Passover?

Passover was the context of when judgment fell on Egypt, Jericho, Sodom, and also on Christ.

His teaching supports the possibility that when the judgment comes to America, it could fit these clues. This

year the 2nd Passover falls on May 19, a date already marked (above). Time will tell.

Passover is a Jewish event, but Christians should “watch and pray” on the evening of May 18 that God will

pass over us in any judgment that falls. But maybe like Elijah, we should pray that God will bring judgment to

America to turn us to Him. Can we really pray, God bless America when we kicked Him out of class rooms

and court rooms?

Christ wants us hot or cold, and events are coming that will drive us to Him or away. Every cloud has a silver

lining and Christ’s wedding parables offer the highest possible reward—“He will make [us] ruler over all that

He has” if we open immediately to His “knock,” Luke 12:36,44.

Comparing Scriptures to understand them, the only other place where Christ “knocks” is for the church of

Laodicea and it ended in an earthquake in 63 AD; type and antitype?

Ellen White foresaw similar possibilities for us when she said, “It seemed that…Judgment day had come,” in

her earthquake vision at Loma Linda. Some readers think she was merely reporting the San Francisco

Earthquake, but she added, “Through His prophet Zephaniah, the Lord specifies judgments He will bring…in

the day of the Lord’s sacrifice.” 9T 93,95, citing Zeph 1:8.

“The day of the Lord’s sacrifice” is Passover. That’s when God said, “I will execute judgment,” Exod 12:12.

At Passover Christ prayed the cup pass [over/from] Him, but He asked His disciples to “watch [be awake is

the meaning of the Greek word, gregoreo] and pray.” And He tells us, “If you don’t watch, I will come on you

as a thief.” Rev 3:3

A thief comes when we don’t expect him, but God said He won’t do anything without revealing it, Amos 3:7.

And the next verse is about the earthquake is you compare a lion’s roar with Joel 3:16, and the Lion of Judah,

Rev 5:5.

Each time Christ said You don’t know the day or hour, He gave an example that fit a provision in their law for

Passover a month later, as for travel in Numbers 9:10,11.

Note His reference to the “goodman” in Matt 24:43, KJV.

The only Old Testament reference to “goodman” is Prov 7:18-20. A harlot says, “let us take our fill of

love…for the goodman is not at home, he is gone a long journey. He… will come home at the yom kece [full

moon].”

Passover comes on a full moon, but “long journey” means Passover a month later. Last year, this passage

applied as Pope Benedict (goodman) was “gone a long journey” to Jerusalem, arriving “at the yom kece,” full

moon of 2nd Passover, and he is married to the harlot in Rev 17:1.

The point is, we are seeing what Ellen White said, “the types that relate to the 2nd advent must be fulfilled at

the time pointed out in the symbolic service.” GC 399. But, if we aren’t looking at those appointed times, we

can miss seeing or understanding their application.

This is important, because the next time Christ gave an example pointing to 2nd Passover, it was in

connection with His own coming as Bridegroom, “for the kingdom of heaven is as a man traveling to a far

country” Matt 25:14.

“Till heaven and earth pass, not one jot or tittle will pass from the law.” Matt 5:18. Even His return in

judgment to separate wise from foolish, lukewarm to hot or cold, will be in conformity to His appointed times,

COL 34, GC 399. Paul said they were “shadows of things to come.” Col 2:17

“As the days of Noah” also had 2nd Passover timing. Noah entered ark on 10th day; compare Gen 7:4,11 and

Exod 12:3.

Please consider watching (being awake) and praying as Christ said as 2nd Passover begins the evening of

April 29.

We should be ready, “that when he comes and knocks, [we] may open unto him immediately,” Luke 12:36.

How do we “open immediately”? By keeping the feast of unleavened bread that begins then, as suggested by

the imagery of the next verse when Christ served His disciples and gave them unleavened bread, Luke 12:37.

But this is not about bread; bread represents spiritual truth in the Bible, Matt 16:12. Communion with Christ

in His word is how we become one with Him. We also become one with Him by making a covenant. These

superimpose at Passover. That’s how Israel did it and God later said, “I am married unto you,” Jer 3:14. When

did they get married? They got married at Sinai when they made a covenant.

God took Israel from calamity in Egypt through the sea to a covenant at Sinai where they became His

kingdom and His bride. Paul says, “All those things happened to them for ex-amples [margin, types*]…ends

of the world,” 1Cor 10:1,11.

*This means we look forward to similar circumstances.

The key is our understanding that we can marry Christ as our Bridegroom by making a covenant with Him.

Ellen White’s last definition of church is a “covenant-keeping people…and to them will be fulfilled all the

covenant promises made by [God to Israel], PK 713,714.

In considering our need to make a covenant with God, only that which comes from God can lead to God.

Bible covenants were linked to sevens. “Covenant” is found 7 times in Gen 9. Abraham gave Abimelek 7

lambs, Gen 21:27,28. God gave Israel 7 holy days, Lev 23. In the covenant that we must make with Christ,

we need to see a collection of topics that He has emphasized 7 times as a mark of end-time truth for us.

For example, the statutes, judgments and sabbaths are emphasized 7 times in Ezekiel 20:11-24. As Adventists

we have focused on the Sabbath as a sign, but we cut the “s” off of Sabbaths and fail to see the statutes and

judg-ments as anything to remember.God says, “Remember the law of Moses…with the statutes and

judgments. Behold I send you Elijah…” Mal 4:4,5. Christ said Elijah “shall first come, and restore all things,”

Matt 17:11.

Dr. Roy Gane, President of Adventist Theological Society, and professor at Andrews Univ, presented “The

Gospel According to Moses and Elijah” and it was a focus on the statutes and judgments cited in Mal 4:4,5.

Entering the End-times?

Our Sunday School class offers an alternate focus on an issue of current relevance. Last year one discussion

featured a study of Mark 1:15:

“The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.”

Each of these phrases may have a new and deeper meaning…

The time is fulfilled. Peter would say, “beloved, be not ignorant…one day is with the Lord as a thousand

years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack…the day of the Lord will come.” 2 Pet 3:8-10.

Pioneers believed that the end-time apocalyptic period, “the day of the Lord,” would come after 6,000 years

because God gives man six days to do all his work, Exodus 20:9.

Ussher’s Chronology supports 6,000 years as completed by 2000 AD, confirmed by Sir Isaac Newton’s

chronology and also by science:

“May 5, 2000: The date that Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn [lined up] with the sun and moon—the

first time in 6,000 years.” TIME Magazine, Jan 17, 2000.

That was ten years ago; why is it relevant now? Because of the context of the Bible’s solar system alignment.

“The sun, moon and stars made obeisance” to Joseph. His brothers didn’t like his dreams and they sold him as

a slave. But after seven good years, there were seven bad years when his brothers came and bowed to him

like the stars in his dream. Since 2000, we had seven good years, but the seven bad years may have started in

2008.

Haiti, Voodoo and Catholicism

On 14 August 1791, a black slave and witch doctor named Boukman led the slaves in a voodoo ritual. They

sacrificed a pig and drank its blood to form a pact with the devil, whereby they agreed to serve the spirits of

the island for 200 years in exchange for freedom from the French. An iron statue of a pig stands in Port-au-

Prince to commemorate the ”Boukman Contract”.

“Haiti’s former president, Jean-Bertrand Aristide, is a former Catholic priest who gained notoriety with the

Catholic Church and popularity in Haiti in the late 1980s on account of his liberation theology.

On April 2003, President Aristide made voodoo an official religion in Haiti declaring, “voodoo is an essential

part of national identity.”Haiti is reckoned as being 95% Christian (80-85% Catholic), but according to

Catholic missionary John Hoet, Haitians “are 100% voodoo.”When people make a pact with the devil, God

does not interfere with their choice. He is a “gentleman” in the sense of giving us freedom of choice. And if
