No cell phones are to be used or in sight during instructional time. *If they are seen, you will be directed to the Main Office. Additionally:No food or drink is permitted in the classroom. This is a personal rule to keep the classroom clean and running efficiently. A water bottle is the only exception.

Classroom Guidelines

Guideline #1

Be in your assigned seat and working on the assigned bell work when the tardy bell rings.

*No whining about or questioning seat arrangements; they may be changed throughout the school year.

Guideline #2

Bring ALL books and materials to class and take them with you when you leave.

Appropriate materials include:-Binder -Textbook-Personal Spanish/English Dictionary-Pen/Pencil -Agenda

Guideline #3

Follow directions the first time they are given.

If I have to wait for your attention, the entire class will stay after the bell to compensate for wasted time.

Guideline #4

Treat each person in this room with respect and dignity.

Guideline #5

• Be quiet with your gum• NO food, candy, or drinks

(water is the exception).

If I see, smell or hear your gum it goes in the trash without argument. If you argue the whole class will lose the privilege.

Guideline #6

Follow all procedures and policies as outlined in the school handbook.

All procedures and policies will be strictly adhered to. If you have an issue with them I invite you to visit administration.

Special Guideline

• This classroom is a “No Whining Zone”. That means that there will be no whining, for ANY reason. Everything that I do is in your best interest, so please…respect the “No Whining Zone” this WHOLE YEAR.

Attendance • Attendance is taken while students are

working on bellwork at the beginning of class.

• If you are tardy, you late pass lets me know you are present. All tardies will be reported in the attendance book at the end of class.

• First block attendance: Be on time. Attendance is taken in the first 2 minutes after announcements. – *5 seconds late is still late; you must

report to the Attendance Office for a pass. This is strictly adhered to as a building policy.

– *Get library passes between 7:30 and 7:40 for the day.

Homework• Homework will be

checked when students are working on their bell work.

• Have homework on your desk at the start of the bell to readily be checked.

• Homework is to have been finished prior to the start of class.
